As far as I'm concerned if his father genuinely Irish-American, then of course that makes Andre Irish also, do the maths :deal Andre should wear these next time he fights. Prerecording a piece later with the lads at the Main Event Boxing Show on Premier Sports TV for their Christmas Review Show. Will run through the highs and lows 2011 and our hopes for next year. I'm thinking the main points were Casey's defeat to Rigo, McCloskeys rise in profile, Macklin getting jobbed in Germany, Magee's interim title and Andy Lee steadying himself for a major title shot. Hopes for next year 1. More domestic shows, 2. Macklin headlining against Martinez with Lee on the undercard. 3. McCloskey & Magee getting genuine world title shots, 4, the international breakthrough for Carl Frampton. What are your highs & lows of 2011 and hopes for 2012? What do you think I should include or ignore?
If Jason Quigley qualifies for the olympics through the WSB will he get a box-off with O'Neill to see who goes??
That makes sense actually! Shur if the 75kg spot was still up for debate i think there wud have been a lot more hype made of quigley joining the wsb...cheers :good
Nevin's performance in WSB and the Worlds doesn't get anything near the recognition that it deserved. Think he can medal in London and also(call me daft) Conlon too. I have tickets for Katie's final(you know what i mean) but I know it's a lot tougher than the media spin, but of course she can do it. On the pro's upward and onward for O'Kane and Carl. Lee on his night, motivated and focused can give us a pleasant surprise. But next year is about the Am's I think. Ignore no boxer but the current pro's are a few levels short of our armatures IMO.
Yeah thats tue, tbh im hoping that many of our am's go pro after the olympics, pity we wont seen it for a good while though.
The lad that qualified for Olympics from wsb at middleweight is from the Ukraine, but then in the worlds another Ukrainian boxer won the gold medal so I'm guessing the world champion can't qualify for the London 2012 games . Crazy eh
