Just found this article - the assault occured in a different pub. Unfortunately there appears to have been two assaults. This is unreal - one would imagine that a promising heavyweight would have the book thrown at them for beating some one up, especially when it's the second time it's occured and he's been given a chance before; http://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/...-unprovoked-assault-496478.html#ixzz1kVrDowmk
Well its hard to know - I mean if that is true I'm a bit suspicous he would be let away with it. Having said that he was according to those online articles (which I'm not convinced about) he was 17 at the time and 18 at the time of the 2nd incodent. He is 20 now so I guess he knows better but if he does it again then he might as well forget about becoming an Olympic hero or some sort of sports star. On the other hand - how many people here got in trouble at 17/18 and how many were in brawls rightly or wrongly! I'm not defending what he did and believe me if I hear more of these stories coming out then I'm giving up on him for sure. If he is smart he will learn from this and acknowledge his mistakes and maybe if he is successfull he can find a way to go back to the victim and pay him a few more bob.
Heard Murray could be on the March 17 card- there was a rumour he had a chance to fight Katisdis late last year, if i recall right? delighted for Ormond
Would hope so but it will be a good acid test either way. Appleby will certainly drag him into the trenches and it will be sink or swim for Ormond.
You like that one Mush?? It's just a bit of craic and Fitzer is getting great publicity out of all this anyway. Saying that I would be very disappointed if Fitzer went and fought the likes of Kevin McAuley after he made such a song and dance about not fighting Clark due to his losses.
