What I was saying with regard the money was that if andy was to get a title shot fighting chavez would be more financially beneficial to fighting geale if it was to be held in the usa. I know andy wants titles and isn't motivated by the money I've met him a good few times as an amateur and pro and its titles he wants. Good he's got di bella backing him now hopefully he pushes him on in the next 12 months to a title shot. If macklin beats martinez let him and andy get it on in thomond park in the summer. Then there'll be serious amounts of tickets sold! :thumbsup
Ditto. McDonagh did well in the Euro Youth beating a Russian before losing narrowly to the eventual winner. Against China he beat Liu Qiang who took DOJ to a countback before losing to Donovan. He did losi in Germany to Brill and Bruhard but these two are world class, Burhard actually beat Joyce in the pre-Olympics recently. No reason to think Michael couldn't have as good a chance of qualifying as DOJ, who can also qualify. I wish David the best of luck, he was so unlucky 4 years ago and also last year and I just hope McDonagh got fair play.
Who is everyone picking for prizefighter?? Ive shared the ring with four of the Irish guys between sparring and fights and with the format I reakon okane has the best chance with his style an aggression over the 3 round format, heard heffron was favourite havnt seen enough if him to judge but he seems to have touch of class wouldn't fancy putting money on the winner but if mcdonagh was big enough odds he would be well worth a bet.
Wouldn't be suprised in the slightest if mcdonagh was someway influenced into making the decision if it was his decision! It's a joke if he was denied chance to qualify for Olympics don't know a single boxer who would throw away that chance strange d ecision!
It sounds like maybe he was being out classed in sparring or something . I hope he dosent pack it in over this and the stuff that went on last year .i personally am delighted as davey is my favorite amateur boxer and i think he Will qualify once he avoids selimov.
It's bad form isn't it? I know we are making presumptions here, but I really do think he must have been influenced, cos it wud be a very strange decision as u say. There is probably added pressure on the coaches because of the fact that someone like DOJ is probably paid well by the sports council. But this shouldn't have such an affect on McDonagh. All he can do is go into the ring and win - something he has done 3 times against Joyce in the last year. But like Matt, I wish Joyce all the best. I love his exciting style of boxing and he could definitely medal in London

At 22 I'm sure she will get a crack at Katie at some stage. Is Christina McMahon retired now? I wonder could she do an exhibition fight with Katie on an undercard some day or against this Carla Wright?
I dont no about that as I reckon Katie will go pro if she wins gold, its a pity they couldnt fight a few weeks ago to see were she stood .
