Barnes dedicates London 2012 qualifiaction to Darren Sutherland http://www.irish-boxing.com/2012/04/barnes-dedicates-london-2012-qualification-to-darren-sutherland/
By the sounds of it it depends now how much clout pat hickey has with the IOC. For the last few years we were calling ourselves a major force in world boxing, that might not work in out in joe's favour if the powers that be think that also. When exactly is this wildcard nomination given out? If nolan and mccarthy both qualify joe won't get it from what I'm reading. It's all a bit up in the air:huh
no it has nothing to do with how many boxers we have qualified ...that story is confusing you a bit...the fact is joe is in a very strong position to claim the 81kg place if the tripartite invitation doesnt go to a developing nation in europe which it wont because none qualify for it
Right that's clearer :good So if what your saying is correct he should be a shoe in? When will we know whos got it?
im just goin what people who seem to be in the know have been sayin hopefully it works out for him....joys of bein ranked highly,if it happens he'll be lucky in a weird way paddy power wouldn't give me renewed odds on him
If he gets in he's a fair lucky lad! That bet you had is hanging by a thread if he wins gold at the olympics it'll be the hardest won bet you'll ever have had!
Yeah he bust his hand a couple of weeks ago and it still ain't right. Good news for some, but not for others.
I'd say it's a pity for most neutrals who are heading to the event. He would definitely have made it more exciting. My money is on O'Kane now
