he lost on points , didnt look great Byrnes corner threw in the towel in the fifth the fight continued tho
I think it might be time for Dean to retire. He takes too much punches for my liking and his lack of power is a bit of a worry for me. Prizefighter weres the smart money going in this. Is Eamonn O Kane worth a gamble on this or will it be the more experienced fighters to win it. Really think Eamonn has a chance here in this and hopefully he will be decent odds as well.
I only saw the last rounds of Dean's fight, but yeah, the lack of power and defence is a bad combo. Eamonn will be the favourite in this. I am glad they are doing the draw a couple of days before it so we can have a look at it and do a punt on the winners of the first round.
We were all there, where were you:smoke It was atmospheric night with an enthusiastic crowd in attendence, I noticed martin Lindsay there supporting his clubmate Alfredo Meli. If Alio can pull these sort of crowds, I would expect more shows like this from this promotional outfit. Would have loved to have gone but just back from Belfast on Wednesday and over again this Wednesday so had to sort stuff out for Joe Rea this weekend. Like I've said before. I won't get carried away saying Joe Rea is going to win Prizefighter. I can't remember a man that was ever in Prizefighter off the back of 7 losses. He just lost to Eamonn O'Kane. Has barely had a win since coming back from America. BUT! What I can say is that this is the best Joe Rea that anyone will have seen. That all I could have asked for. If he gets slap, bang and whhhhalloped in the first round, so be it! But he's done everything I and trainer Kevin Maree has asked of him and he has benefitted so much from training with a mean, focused muthafooker like Kenny Anderson. It's a different man than the one that landed in rural East Lancashire 7 weeks ago. However, I know that every fighter in it has trained to their maximum and given it their all. Good luck to them all and may the best man win. Fair play to Matchroom for giving these guys the opportunity, they are classy, upstanding, professional guys and it's been a pleasure dealing with them, especially for a learning novice such as myself. See you fight night. #TeamSugarRea
I think Rea has always shown a certain amount of talent in the gym, but of late has been thrown into the deep end. He gave Okane a tough fight last year, and the truth is I thought there was wasn't a great lot of difference between the two, so if a more improved version of that Rea arrives at Prizefighter then he could be a danger to anyone. But slappy does he really believe he can win this? When and where is the draw?
He believes he will win. I believe he can win. Kevin Maree believes that he would not choose any other fighter in the competition. The work has been as much mental as physical. I cant wait for it now. Plenty of good lads and they've all worked there bollocks off. Greene has taken 8 weeks off work, Fitzer has put himself through hell and back, Cruise has worked like he's never worked before. Everyone is at their peak. The draw is at Stormont on Wednesday and I think its Wayne McCullough that is doing it. I am boycotting on the advice of Fra, who said that if I step on foot inside the building that I will pay. WTF happened to Byrne? I thought he was going to be half decent and would hopefully face A. Murray at some stage in a big(gish) domestic bout. End of the line for him now it seems- reading into his pre fight comments anyway. Sad really. Slap, are you going to invest a few squid in Rea? Apart from O'Kane and possibly Fitz, the bookies won't know much about the others and there could be some crazy odds available
I would have loved to put some money in a few corners but none of the bookies are confident enough to put odds anywhere. I'll be chasing the value as soon as the odds come out. I dont think theres been a Prizefighter which aint had odds out with less than a week to go. Shame as I would have cleaned up on Betfair swings already.

There will be odds up on Thur, I assume. I would guess that "Sugar" will be 10/1 or thereabouts- based on his record. Which seems like huge odds... Healy will surely be the outsider. If O'Kane in 5/2 or better, (which he should be) I'll spunk my money on him
In order of threat to Joe Rea I would rank them thus - O'Kane O'Donnell Fitzgerald McDonagh Greene Cruise Healy Moffett Haughian
