o' sullivan's opponent has been changed to roberto oliveara de jesus. He got ko'd in 2 round's in his last fight by amin asiskeain but asiskeain can punch so it would be interesting to see if gary can do the same. Perez's opponent was changed once again to oscar ricail there was an article about it in yesterday's examiner. Btw doe's anyone know what the weight's were at the weigh-in?

    You rang!!! lol.

A republican car - that would mean you were either drive a Toyota Volunteer or an Audi AK!! :yep

As for the Feeney/Waite fight - as many know I wrote that wikipedia article and I am sure I wrote it from a Feeney perspective as we are both Maugheraboy Estate men. However, I never actually saw the fight (do you have it on DVD Doug?) so only went by newspaper reports - all the talk around Sligo was that he "woz rabbed a da belt" - but you would expect that.

Doug, I finally got a photo of Vinny for the article as he was the ring inspector at the Rock/Finnigan fight.

Feeney brought a bit of personality to the game and without the usual snarlin ego that can come with that. The boy was hilarious in interviews and always entertainin - here the video DOug uploaded to youtube http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=5PrHABQuJow

the problem as I say is was that he was promoted by a two bit hillbilly called Stacey Goodson when he was over there and the guy has zero credability and failed to deliver the fights for him

he looked good last time alright. He told me last year he wouldnt ever fight again and he is now LH champion, I asked him again after the Finnagan fight and jokingly said how about taking the cruiserweight title on - he said that "you never know". Him versus Michael Sweeney or Jonathan O'Brien

Yeah I never got that. This is the same Stacey Goodson that promoted the up and coming sensation that was Charlie Zelenoff (if you haven't heard about this clown look it up).

***an -v- Khan would be a good one I reckon :p How much money would you pay to see him banjo Khant? I think he'd give old china chin a seriously good go. He has only lost to good fighters with the exception of one guy who turned out to be nothing. Spadafora ex world champ, JCC Jr decent if unconvincing at a higher level, Mendoza seems to have a good record and Kimburgh was a title fight. He's a solid operator and I think he'd give a lot of the top Euro guys a good scrap

Hello Doug, it's a strange one to call, as Harrison seems to be suffering from a severe lack of confidence at the moment[ no matter what his public utterances are].Harrison has been blessed with an abundance of talent, but he has never had the desire required to be the world class fighter that he has always aspired to be.Rogan on the other hand is a crude slugger with a potent punch at a certain level, and has the heart of a lion. We know what to expect when Martin turns up, he fights a certain way and wont deviate too far away from it. I think the outcome of this contest depends on what Audley turns up. If A-Force boxes anywhere near his best, he should beat "The Entertainer" comfortabley, but one never knows what to expect with this erratic performer.Rogan will try to bully Harrison into submission, but if an ambitous and confident Harrison turns up, then the Londoner will ride through the Belfast mans early onslaught, and pick him apart for a mid-rounds stoppage.

Doug, I heard your pal Feeney was training kids in Sligo. Is he having much success?. Is there any outstanding Sligo talent that you could tell us about? A boxer to look out for, in the future?

well...vinny lives in my street here in coolaney...and himself and meself were going to set up a club in the community centre...{my role as a chairman / treasurer / accounts type thing...i'm no trianer}...we were down the club a while back and were told what we could do with permanent bags hanging and space for a ring etc...and vinny had all the contacts ready from the various amatuer officials....
vinny has pulled back from this for a reason i won't speak of...but i wouldnt say its dead in the water yet...

vinny may also decide to train with the st joesphs boxing club, currently ran by the renyolds brothers....former amatuer irish champions...thats in sligo town...he could even be doing a bit with them already for all i know...

i look at vinny and think he would be a superb amatuer coach...i think the way his career ended left, to use a corny phrase, a lot of stuff in the basement...

    :good

ps...the tommy waite fight...i have it somewhere, i think, on an old vhs...fook knows where...but i'll try and find it...

Ardy, I agree with you about the Harrison - the guy has all the physical attributes to be a world champion but he is missing all the other ingrediants - heart, will, desire, effort (I suppose they are essentially the same thing)

I was at his latest fight on the Khan undercard - not sure if SKY showed it) but he was a disgrace, Arais the Brazillian was over a foot smalled and out of shape but fought his bollix off and was roundly cheered at the end of the fight - fans want to see some effort - Harrison barely strung to punches together. I would be so embrassed if I was him.

Yes, Stacey promoted that youtube tool Zelenoff - Goodson should be promoting circus acts imo. However, ***an hasnt a bad word to say about him - but the proof is in the pudding, Goodson couldnt get ***an the fights be deserved and could barely keep him fighting regularly never him at the right level - hence the erratic nature of ***ans opponants.

I wouldnt like to see ***an stay at lightweight, he has a massive heart (if only A-force had an once of it) but he has a very small guy and could easily move down. Khan or even Murray would tower over him and although he is one of the busiest fighters in terms of pressure he doesnt pack a real KO punch and I think he would be made for Khan. I think he actually was offered the fight instead or Bredis (actually ignore that it was Murray wasnt it)
