Thanks for the update Doug, I didnt get to speak to Vinny during the Rock fight and he wasnt at the afterparty either so send him my regards.

I am sorry to here that the Coolaney project might not be going ahead but I always thought that he should be looking for a base in Colloney instead - purely for demographics - he's still be the closest club for guys in the Coolaney catchment area and he would have Colloney and Ballisodare sewn up and obviously Vinny could tap into guys from Sligo Town as well. Anyway I hope it turns out well.

Like Ardy said are there any good ams about that we should know about?

Luis Oscar Ricail looks like the first step up for Perez.

Why no Power or Sweeney tonight? or Luis Garcia?

A fight with O'Brien, Rock could win easily. O'Briens a big fat lump, who does not look as if he trains properly. Michael Sweeney could give Jim a lot of trouble,he has a lot of good boxing skills. I hear hes training in Belfast alongside Jim? There is also talk of Sweeney going to the states to advance his career there.

Didn't make it myself but a mate of mine did. Perez banjoed your man in the first apparently.
O'Sullivan had a KO win in the 3-4 round (can't remember which) and Tim's won on PTS. I think one of the home fighters lost but I can't remember who it was

Good to hear another win for Perez, although Couser would have given us a much better indication of where he's at atm. Also, Bernard Dunne's next opponent has been announced - Eduardo Garcia. He's got some decent rankings at bantamweight and his record is 18-5. He's only been stopped once. The Haughian/Grassellini rematch is on the undercard aswell. If Dunne beats Garcia, he'll shoot up the rankings and will be very close to a world title fight. I think if he does win he needs one more fight, then he should go for the world title fight.

Looks like a good opponent. A draw with Lontchi (where he put him down as well) for the NABA SBW title coming in as a short notice replacement shows the lad has some skills alright. Should be an interesting fight. Also Garcia is #15 with the IBF (Lontchi is #14). So a win over the #15 should secure him sufficient ranking to line up the shot at Molitor that has been mooted for the last while

However, the lad doesnn't seem to have any real punch power down at BW or even SuperFly Weight so it seems Team Dunne aren't keen on having their mans chin tested again to any degree at all. As massive a fan of Bernards as I am I still think that is a bad idea. He got caught cold by Kiko and suffered the effects. He still got back up twice, though, so I'm not sure his chin is quite as suspect as everyone seems to think. I just feel that he needs to take a few decent bangs on the whiskers ahead of any world title fight if only to remind him what can happen if he's not carfeul and starts dropping his guard again.

He probably will need another fight after this one to prep for a world title but I don't see him getting it. They obviously had a tough time bringing in the nessecary level of opponent to box in a small hall here so they would more than likely have those same problems again. The other option would be for Bernard to box away from home in a build up contest but I don't see that happening either.

World title fight in the Point in March is still where my money is
