Hopefully this will test dunne, tbh ive never heard of him before, hes been inactive of late, heard about it on the radio where they said he hadnt been beaten in the last two years, i thought good team dunne are taking a big risk, then looked at his record and seen hes only had 3 fights in 2 years.

perez is looking hot...but the irish promoters will have 2 come up with more meaningful opposition...r this talented cuban will fly the coop

 

this doesnt really look like a test for dunne, i believe he can easily outbox garcia but is this enough to get molitor over here, i dont think so

 

has any1...any results from the world juniors in mexico ....how r our boxers doing:good

 

as a lot have already said...dunne needs a step-up in opposition:good

 

Molitor is going to fancy beating Dunne pretty handily so I would imagine (as long as Bernard wins this next one) the main thing involved in getting him over here would be $$$$$$$$

Well Oliver Lontchi was set to fight Molitor until he screwed it up by fighting to a draw against Garcia. Where Garcia floored him on the way.

He also stopped another Canadian prospect Sebastien Gauthier in 4 rounds. He's not the powderpuff puncher his record may suggest

 

Bernard may surprise a lot of people, he seems to up his game against better opposition and I can see the Castlebar bout showing us a different side to him. One of Bernards problems is that he lets his opponents off the hook when he hurts them which is why his recent fights have went the distance. He needs to get back to the more aggressive style of boxing which was evident in his earlier fights in the US when he was actively going for the knockouts. He is more than capable of beating this guy.

 

I think Bernard is a bit gun shy because he is afraid of getting banjoed on the way in as he looks to finish off a guy.

He was boxing rings around Voronin until he got caught going in during the last round and it nearly cost him. Walstad also tagged him in the 11th (i think) when Bernard was looking to produce the big finish the home crowd wanted but he was lucky enough that Walstad was a bit too knackered to force it home

He is always very concerned about entertaining people and putting on a good show. I don' think that suits him to be honest. He hasn't got the punch power or the punch resistance for that kind of fighting. The only way he will win big fights against quality fighters is by staying outside and picking them off and accumulating rounds on the way.

If Cormac gets that interview with him I'd be very interested to hear how the work Dunne is supposed to have been doing on increasing his punch power has come along. He really could use that extra bit of oomph. My biggest worry for him at world level would be his opponent walking him down because they know that Bernard can't hurt them.

Mark Doyle has been a busy boy!

 

”If I’m honest he wouldn’t have been the first choice on our list but guys like Oliver Lontchi, Bryan Vazquez, Gary Stark, Sergio Medina and Ceferino Labarda all turned down the fight.

Lontchi would have been a good fight (think someone on here suggested that before), Vasquez and Stark would have been a waste of time. Medina is fighting Juanma for the title next month isn't he? Don't see how they ever thought they were going to get him. Labarda was the best of the rest but looking at that list there I think Garcia is about as good as Dunne was likely to get
