No I agree with you. I think he has been way too inactive over the last 2 years. But he does have a lot of natural boxing ability s you never know. Given the fact he hasn't boxed some of the people at the level i would have liked him to I think Marchiano -v- Ponce De Leon is now the best yardstick of his ability we are likely to get

 

Are you going to the fight yourself BamBam, it should be a cracking night of boxing, even more so with the fact that Coyle has been handed a tasty opponent.

No I had some serious issues with my stay the last time I went to the Breaffy (I mentioned it on here before). It's an expensive auld trip and after what happend the last time I can't justify going back. Hopefully I'll be hearing reports that things have improved big time so I won't be put off anymore.

I'm raging, though, since I haven't missed seeing Bernard live since he came home. Add to that how good the undercard is looking as well and its a real shame to miss it but I wouldn't spend €300 + on a repeat experience of the last time. I'll have to live with watching it on the box (horrible thing to have to do when you are used to being there as you miss out on a lot of little things).

Can anyone tell me who does the radio commentary? I plan on watching the tv with the sound down and the radio turned up. I couldn't listen to Jimmy Magee all night. His day has been and gone. For someone who has been covering sport for a long time he seems to know **** all about what he is watching. I was away when Lee fought Gibbs and I sky plused the fight. I was watching it when a friend of mine from the states called around. It was actually embarrasing trying to explain to him who Jimmy was and why he was let do the commentary. Some of the stuff he says is cringeworthy

 

Good news about moore v foreman. how do ye think this one will go.

 

Its a good fight and exactly what is needed to get the best out of Moore. From that end he is in with a great shout. Boxrec have Foreman 13th in the world so beating him would make a lot of noise.

 

Lee comeback could be delayed

Andy Lee’s return to the ring may be delayed until 2009 as he continues his recovery from facial surgery.

Lee has already returned to the gym, but has now revealed that an expected December 13 bout is far from a certainty.

“A spot on the Klitschko-Povetkin card in Germany is a possibility but nothing has been signed yet,” Lee told The Irish Independent.

Thus far Lee has only returned to light training following the procedure to remove scar tissue but he is desperate to fight in front of a home crowd again and to continue to put his defeat to Brian Vera behind him.

“Whatever happens, I hope to be back in action before Irish fans as soon as possible," continued the 24-year-old.

Instead of scheduling a fight for this autumn, Lee opted to have the operation after his ten-round stoppage win against Willie Gibbs and remains happy with his decision to go under the knife.

“I’m happy to say the operation was a complete success.

“I had to have it done as opponents were simply targeting the injury, either with punches or with their heads. I had scar tissue removed and everything is fine,” explained Lee.

While his loss to Vera acted as a significant roadblock on the Limerick man’s seemingly destined road to success, Lee is viewing his professional career with a new lease of life and an assuring sense of maturity.

“I want big fights and I want to be tested. I feel I have finished my apprenticeship.

“I should have taken him [Brian Vera] and so I paid the high price.

“He had turned up in the best condition of his life. I was goaded into a brawl and he stopped me. But that will not happen again,” continued Lee.

thanks mate...now at long last... we have news of why his fight wasnt announced for the autumn date that we expected...i thought he had been beamed up by martians r something...he seemed 2 have simply vanished off the radar..:good
