Woodhall was a joke and totally biased. I hope we avoid the home fighters as we will not get a fair shake.[/quote] Richie Woodhall is always biased.. at these Olympics and in the Pro game. Like all the British commentators.. almost put me off watchin Sky.
I really like Nolan. He's not the most pleasant to watch but is very effective! I love the story behind his qualification. I mean he was an intermediate boxer until a year and a half ago basically! Only won the inters in december '10 shur. Some rise thru the ranks in fairness. We haven't seen him lose really since becoming a senior. Ok he lost in the box offs last summer for the worlds but wasn't long back from injury. This is his FIRST major tournament let's not forget. We'll have a load of bar stool experts throughout Ireland 2mo saying he's **** That's basically cos he's not as skilful as nevin, conlon, etc. But anyone ever involved in boxing will identify his class
BK, Adam Nolan has to up his game big time if he is to medal, I have only ever seen him live once and that was at the box offs where he was beaten soundly enough. Havin said that he has the style and the temperament to grow into the competition, difficult passage to the medal places but hopefully we can be on the positive end of some of these dodgy R&J decisions being thrown around the Excel. Cum on Ireland!!!
I agree that he has to up his game from the other night. I do feel though that the nerves of his first major tournament (not to mention olympics) must have gotten to him. I know they have sports psychologists and the lot, but it's a big leap for a guy who, as I say, only is a senior boxer for the last year and a half. Here's to hoping he does the business :good
RTE could do with getting rid of the Carruth. The **** just cant wait to hop in at any chance and mention he won gold. ****.
He came out of nowhere to win two senior titles and then wins the qualifyin tournament. He has this long reach that no one can get past. And he uses it effectively. Good hand speed and can move.. he was nervous the other day and looked to me like he got tired in the third but that was the first one, and now that's out of the way. I reckon he could medal.. I hope he can medal. (Dont want to jinx him)
Do you think he will medal this year? Do you think he'll have a tinker-meltdown, and start cussing, and putting his dukes up at the officials if he feels they scored the fight wrongly against him? Does he come from a TRUE tinker family? How good do you think he'll be in the professional ranks? Assuming he'll go pro no matter how he finishes at the olympics this year.
