I though he won the second. Thought there might be only a point or 2 in it then goin into the 3rd. But being down by 4 meant he had to chase it and left himself open. Not taking anything away from the Cuban tho, he's class
With all the euphioria of the Olympics i nearly forgot about the show in mayo next week but i see on boxrec Colado and Donnellan are out,:roll:Those two fights looked to be the better of the fights on the night, Cruise still fights but its over 6x2s didnt know the bui sanctioned those.
4 medalists out of six how could you ask for more best ireland team so far that cant be disputed ,,, im off to bed cuz im up in two hours to bring a boy sparing to get him ready for the open comp that will give him a place in the school boy European championships this year very good boy called Darron "dazzler" branwell you heard it here first folks
4 medals is a fantastic return. Every fighter won at least one fight in the Olympics- which is a feat in itself considering how difficult it is to even get there. nevin has been a sensation and with a bit of luck he will claim gold. On a different note- sounds like O'Kane-Fitz isn't happening. Fitz was offered the fight, but for whatever reason it's not happening (apparently)
What a performance from Paddy & John Joe, screamed the gaf down and was nearly in tears.. Best ive ever seen either of them box. Nevin made a holy show of Alvarez, who is top notch himself unbelievable stuff!! Conlans fella could be the next Rigo.
It's been a roller-coaster in the last couple of weeks, and as delighted I was in Taylor and Nevins wins, I was bitterly gutted by the two Belfast boxers exit from the tournament. Barnes was a handy winner in my opinion [and was on the end of another strange decision] but Conlan fought the wrong fight as his rival Selby had done against the Cuban. It would have been intersting to see the Cubans response if Michael had of boxed from the outside and try to lure the Cuban out of his shell like defence. All the same a bronze isn't bad, he can be very proud. Good luck to Nevin today, he has simply been outstanding up to this point, but the gold isn't a certainity. It's important hes scores first so Campell is chasing the fight or we could get a repeat of the world championships. yeah nevin so much better when hes got a lead, he didn't have great start last time though against campbell and he looks a lot more focused this time around. Nervous as **** at the moment, can't stop thinking about this fight.
got back last night nights Bumped into Paddy after the fights yesterday I told him he wanted to score one point.... well he beat him! He was unreal shimming looked very uncomfortable in the second and third I also told him how proud everyone back in ireland was of him! He was in a surprisingly good mood! I have to say his performance brought a tear to my eye!
