Never got to grips with Campbells faster hands and southpaw left,Thought he would have boxed him more instead of trying to push the pace.Those tactics seemed to suit Campbell a lot more than Nevin.
No arguements with the scoring though if anything it could have been one or two more,
Still as much of a pisser as it is he still has an Olympic silver and fair play to him that some achievement and some of his performances in the run up to the fimnal were brilliant especially his semi.

Why didnt you watch it on RTE.

Im genuinely disgusted Nevin lost. He boxed unbelievably to get to the final but **** I cant help but feel he left it after him in there. Sickened. Fair play to Nevin though. The boxers at the these games gave the whole country a much needed lift.

 

i was watching RTE... but all there doing is yaking about the 1 fite.... fuk sake they were saying b4 the final tat nevin should get the val barker trophy atsch... i want 2 watch all the boxing:good

 

He should of never went afte Campbell. His reach was unreal and he just wasn't moving his head! Campbell was drawing on Nevins left jab withe a feint and just stickin his own jab/hook over it. Unless your movin your head and gettin in and out, your not goin to outbox a taller fighter with a bigger reach.

No because RTE have sold their satelitte rights to a paid for service known as sky

Well if she is going to go pro I think Eddie is a gent and would look after her. Maybe with Barry there too. But like I said. Seeing her taking a role in boxing some other way could be interesting? But if she HAS to go pro then Eddie would be cool.

 

Small rant - hate to nit pick - but I rewatched the Taylor Ochigava fight.
I counted 5 scoring punches for Taylor in round 1.
In Round 2 I had her winning that round alone by 2 points. How they had Ocigava winning the fight at that stage is beyond me. Look at round one again. See if you can see the same scores as me. Even in round 4 she won the first minute handily. The Russian scored 3 points including the debatable knock down. and then immediately I had a 2 punch score for Katie again. I'm not trying to knock the Russian Girl just think its laughable. If the scored the fight on slow motion replay's Katie would have been further ahead then the scores suggested at the end. I guess with the speed those punches landed its hard for the judges to see them.
