Great to see Bernard Dunne's name here. Got to know him reasonably well when he was trainin' at the Wild Card Gym, in L.A.

I asked him one day if he came from a fighting family.

“Me da wus in the Olympics wuth Sugar Ray Leonard; me two brothers were boxers, and on me mum’s side wus the furst Irish amateur world champion.

“When a boy wanted to see me sister, he had to meet the whole family. They never came back. She was sure she was gonna be a nun.”

dunne looked good last night disappointing end but **** it, he seemed to be planting his feet beter

 

Yeah it was a nice performance. But its very worrying that he was seriously buzzed the one time Faccio caught him with a decent head shot. He did hold on well for a while and Faccio gave him a breather by pushing him down to the canvas in a clinch not long after. I don't want to sound doom and gloom it just concerns me a lot. If he gets a world title crack I don't want him to lose in the fashion he did in the Martinez fight.

Also, he won't beat Larios. He won't be able to keep Larios off him for 12 rounds. Aside from that I'd say yes he would do it. But you know Larios would catch up to him eventually. Larios may be 35 but he's still decent. Wasn't that long ago he went 12 with PacMan.

I have to assume that Bernard is struggling to make SBW if he's looking at fighting at FW. However, he loses what little power he does have when he goes up to FW. I honestly think Molitor is his best chance of tking a world title

 

A more sensible course of action than chasing Larios I think. I have always thought Dunne would have too much for Munroe. Given that I think Munroe has been less impressive in the last 12 months than he was and Dunne has been a bit better than before (given he was coming back off a bad loss) I think that my stance has only widened. Dunne UD 117-111 if it happens

The Sinky piece has been a great addition to the site.Breens gym must be buzzing at the moment, but I think you will agree there needs to be more shows in Ireland. Peters has went quiet, outside of Dunne on Saturday there has been a lull of late.:-(
