http://irish-boxing.com/stories/november08/november08_moore_sparring.html http://irish-boxing.com/stories/november08/november08_our_enry.html Two new stories. About James Moore and Henry Coyle. Not about them fighting each other sadly.
Cheers Rebel how did he get on down in kilarney there was a bit of scandal about the lad he was fighting in cork if i remember rightly. Im thinking about going to the show I thought they might have tried to get one of the hylands on the show.
I heard Paul Hyland along with Martin Power and Jamie Moore are all this star studded bumper card.:deal
It seems like hes puting a nice little show together no doubt with sutherland on the card it will sell out
KIKO TO GIVE DUNNE SHOT AT TITLE KING MUNROE http://www.irishnews.com/articles/597/556/2008/11/18/603213_363865922370Kikotogi.html
Cheers Ardy. This is all a bit stupid if you ask me. None of it adds up. Peters wants Dunne to fight Munroe for the EBU which he'd then have to defend against Martinez. And at the same time.. He wants Dunne to go up in the weights (presumably because he can't make SBW properly anymore) for a world title crack. So if Peters has his way then Dunne will win the EBU and then end up defending the title against a lad who destroyed him when they previously met only now Dunne isn't even comfortable at the weight anymore. They should forget EBU and go for a world title. The EBU is something he should be looking at as a fall back plan if and when he loses a world title shot. I want to see him fight for a world strap. At the minute it looks like he will be able to make that happen against someone in the new year . However, if he goes the EBU route and has another slip up he will never get the chance to fight for a world title. But if he loses a world title there will be plenty of scope for an EBU shot. Doesn't seem to make sense to me.
i think peters is talking shite...i think he just wants 2 b heard 2b saying something...but he doesnt seem 2 no what hes at...dunnes career along with a few others like mccloskey and haughian and murray seemed 2 b grinding 2 a permanent halt...:good
Theres a huge public row going on between Peters and Maloney:bbb http://www.irish-boxing.com/stories/november08/november08_peters_maloney_offer.html
He won't fight Martinez again unless he has nothing to lose.If he beats Monroe he gets his European title back and hopefully a shot a a world title. If he loses the world title shot then there it would make more sense to fight Kiko
http://irish-boxing.com/stories/november08/november08_peters_maloney_war_of_words.html Was talking to Maloney today.
LOL, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Maloney loves hearing the sound of his own voice, the gobshite. And the cheek of Maloney calling Peters small hall. Sure when was the last time if ever, did Maloney stage shows that attracted the numbers that Dunne got at the Point or Duddy got at the Kings Hall. Talk about York Hall or Liesure center King, Maloney. He thinks because he has a contract with Sky, hes king dick. Peters has a contract with a national TV station.:deal
That would be fine if thats the case but if Martinez is going to step aside then he is going to want a guaranteed shot at the winner of the fight leaving Dunne with a contrcatual obligation to fight him. I'd rather Dunne just forgot about Martinez for good. I'd also like to see him forget about Munroe. My major worry now is that he isnt' handling the weight anymore. Just read back over a few interviews etc... and little pieces here and there seem to point at him not making the weight comfortably. If he is going up to FW he should look at getting a shot at Cristobal Cruz or Steve Leuvano. Both reasonably beatable and not the heaviest punchers. I thought Leuvano was shite against Billy Dib last time out (despite what the ridiculously biased commentators thought) and could be ripe for the plucking
Leuvano looked great against a tough Thai fighter a couple of fights ago but has been far from impressive lately. This division is not as strong as SB so moving up might be a good idea for Dunne
