Did nobody else notice spike nearly being knocked out by a stool thrown from the crowd?

Can Macklin make it a hat trick of great performances by irish boxers tonight?

Very sad ending to Macklins career there. Bad night all round for the Macklins and their gym MGM with Fitzy getting wiped out too.....

Great night for Irosh boxing though, Spike and Nevin winning in style and Kal Yafai winning his first big test fight in Dublin etc etc and let's not forget Luke Keeler...we might be needing a new middleweight star shortly with Macklin probably finished and Lee soon gone too.

Disastrous night for Irish boxing tbh. A Macklin win would have Irish boxing back in the big time again with Lee's fight on soon...it's now back in the gutter until Quigley develops into a contender

Ok be better if Mack won, obviously..but
Not that bad a night overall. Certainly not in the gutter. Sky seem very happy with it, the atmosphere, the fans etc and hopefully they will be back in the spring.
New talent emerging too, that's gotta be a good thing, right?
Let's face it time moves on and Macklin and Lee didn't have much time left anyway.

Jono Carrol beat Geraghty by DQ. Apparently was a cracking fight up until Geraghty got disqualified for headbutt in the 4th round, had already had a point deducted for an elbow. Geraghty was up 30-28 going into the 4th.

Carrol vs geragthy was a great little scrap until the last round .I would definitely not have had geragthy up going into the last round . The elbows and headbutts where plane as day , he got deducted a point for elbow then 20 seconds later was caught throwing in the head

A good nights boxing just looking at the younger lads. Tommy McCarthy looked good strong and boxed well. Luke Keeler been impressed with Luke every time I have seen him fighting. I do hope that Luke does get on some big bills and gets some bigger fights. JJN done what he had to do. I think he can be pushed a lot great boxing skills but he banged that lad out early. I think there is going to be a lot of pluses from the card we might not see the 3 arena for a while but Spike after that performance could well headline at The National Stadium and get the other lads out fighting again. Always look at the positives and hope that big time boxing returns.

Was Carrol cut bad? Wonder will he be ok for prizefighter?
Also would like to see these two over a longer distance.

spare a thought for oisin ***an tonight too. stopped in two rounds and announced his retirement. .....funny thing was his fight was at 5.30.....doors opened to public at just after 5.30 so first people from public in missed the 1st round. ...just press etc there.....I'd been queuing for 45 minutes hoping to be in for it.....why do they do that?

Security must have seen I and I hope they pounced. As a matter of interest, where did the stool come from? Surely there are not loose stools used as seating there? :blood

Stool was the one from the red corner, very strange that somebody got near enough to pick the stool from the corner and throw it,surely security had to see who did it,Also bottles thrown into the ring during or after the geraghty v carroll bout and a bit of messing in the crowd aswell,
It will be a long while before sky are back in dublin IMO,

Didnt notice much troble were we were in the crowd last night apart from some rotten ******* letting off like no ones business the smell was a scandal hope that ****er gets a ban for life. As for the stool throwing I thought I seen one of Antos people walking away from the ringside sharpish after it happend not saying it was them but who knows. I do hope they come back over. We do need either Patrick Hyland , Spike and Luke Keeler signed up to some sort of fight contract for it all to work out down here.

Could see Spike v John Ryder
    Patrick Hyland v Josh Warrington
As the 2 main fights of a bill and then add in the lads who were on last night Tommy McCarthy and Luke Keeler and Tims v Sweeney the supply for the pro game down here in Dublin is still strong but I just hope we can get someone on the cards to build up the fight game here.
