Newcomer Jono Carroll features on the 6th ep of 4Thumps ahead of his Prizefighter appearance this weekend. The team runs through past Irish entrants, some memorable; many more best forgotten. Take a listen and as ever, all feedback welcome.

    Cheers, Kev

Saunders is hardly garbage now in fairness,
Granted after last weeks performance i dont think he is anyhere near as good as the hype machine had made him out to be but i do think he underestimated Eubanks toughness and resilence a bit,
I would give Andy Lee a 50-50 shot at beating him if Andy does secures the belt next week,
Its his lack of power or seeming inabilitiy to susutain pressure that leads me to that conclusion in case you are wondering,
Still one step at a time and next saturday first,
Also think prizefighter may have come a fight or two too soon for Jono Carroll but it pays well for a three rounder is good exposure and a lose in prizefighter isnt seen as big a deal as a loss in a "real" fight so best of luck to him,

I don't recall saying that I know my boxing Marty, but I guess I probably do. Even if I was blind deaf and stupid Im bound to have picked something up all these years, right? Either way its nice of you to acknowledge it.

Maybe its a local language thing or a generational thing, but when I say 'hotshot', I am NOT being particularly complimentary..I mean 'young' - 'flash' - 'more image than substance' etc etc.

Actually I DO rate BJS. He IS good.
As Puca says he is most def not 'garbage'.
You shoud listen to Puca and me, Marty - we know our boxing.

Billy Joe is an interesting character isnt he. His skill is there to see but he has a couple of problems as I see it.

1 Lack of discipline - he is small for a middle today and with the right diet/lifestyle/training he could probably do what Andy tried - move to 154, where he might do better.
    2. Lack of power - he is basically never going to get an early night against anyone decent - he is forced to go the full 12 every time. Maybe he has hand trouble, cos his jab is certainly hurtful enough yet he more or les stopped throwing it after 5-6 rounds vs CEJ?
CEJ to be fair toughed it out better than I expected - maybe theres hope for him yet?

Big ask but his best hope is that the pace he'll bring will be initially overwhelming.

"Stephen Ormond has withdrawn from his WBO European Lightweight title defence against Terry Flanagan due to a viral infection.

The Irishman was scheduled to fight Flanagan at the Hillsborough Leisure Centre on Saturday 13th December, but was today withdrawn by his trainer Paschal Collins following medical advice."

Check out sky bet r betfair. In bet fair always use the exchange get instead of the sports book. Sports book means u bet against betfair. Exchange means u bet against other punters
