Yeah I have a feeling Lee will take the all guns blazing approach. In the interview he did with IFL recently they talked about what he would do if he were to fight Golovkin, Andy admitted that Golovkin was a better skilled fighter than him and that he would train to go hell-for-leather for 6 rounds, no point training for 12 when he knows he can't outbox him. Regardless of the differences in power and skill level between Golovkin and Korobov the same applies here. Korobov with all his amateur pedigree outboxes Andy over 12.

(This is not to say that Andy is not skilled, he probably has better boxing ability than 90% of the top guys but for someone as slick as Korobov he's gonna have to rely on his other great attribute, power)

Luke, one of your countrymen is boxing for a world title,...at your weight too.. Like myself, I'm sure lots of people would love to hear your two cents worth on how he will get on?
How do you see this one panning out? :good

Cyclone confirm Frampton will defend against Avalos in BELFAST

    Carl Frampton v Kiko Martinez
CARL Frampton will make the first defence of his IBF super bantamweight World title against mandatory challenger Chris Avolas in Belfast in February or March.

Although there was never an official announcement it was widely accepted that American Avolas would be ‘The Jackal’s’ first defence and Belfast always seemed the common sense destination for the fight considering Frampton’s pulling power and the atmosphere his fans generate.

However, reports this week had Frampton defending his title in London on February 28, but Cyclone have moved quickly to quash the rumours.

Team Frampton have confirmed the Belfast star will get to defend the strap he unbuckled from the waist of Kiko Martinez in his home town.

Watched few clips of Korobov since it was announced and haven't been hugely impressed think hes favorite on recent form but Andy has edge on experience so evens things up. His style will suit Andy as well, allow Andy time to pick his shots and hes not great inside where Lee struggles!

He hasn't beaten anyone of note Lee will be his biggest test, see Lee battling back after losing first 4 or 5 rounds to win on points or late stoppage! :thumbsup

Have him backed to win and be great for Irish boxing and pros like myself if he does so hopefully pulls off the upset!!

McKenna and Ray Ginley did video with IFLTV at 3arena show saying there helping the enemy ha ha. Both lads are top fighters but just novice pro's like myself so hopefully he hasn't been getting world level experienced sparring on top of them. Anyone here who Lee was sparring in weeks coming up to fight???

Cheers, Luke. Hope you win your bet. A worry I have is that Korobov is a big beefy looking middleweight and he might be able to push Andy back to the ropes. Andy is very weak against the ropes. He squares up his feet something terrible, doesn't keep his guard tight or move his head. That's how Jackson nailed him in the first for the knockdown. Andy is very vulnerable to the southpaw right hook. People forget, (or maybe never even noticed it) that Jackson was switching to southpaw a lot against Andy, and it was as a southpaw that he floored Andy.

John Duddy retired cause he fell out of love with the sport.

Telling it like it is? Deal with it? All you're giving here is your opinion. Your opinion that nobody else shares.

Instead of bashing Andy Lee and any accomplishments he has and could still achieve why don't you keep your negative opinion to yourself. People on here back Lee in his career and want to see him win a world title that he is f.ucking capable of doing. And dont say you hope he wins either because you know you hope he loses and retires for some strange f.ucking reason instead of getting behind an Irish fighter who has a good chance of winning a world title, something not many Irish fighters have the chance of doing!

Despite your dog s.hite opinion he has gottan himself into a position to be a world champion!

    D.ickhead!

McKenna said that Korobov is there to be hit in sparring even though he is a great boxer, also Ginley been sparring Andre Dirrell.

I have Korobov the fav but Andy can do this, hopefully sticks to his boxing and jab and move, instead of trading with Korobov. Been watching clips of Korobov and he does seem to get tagged a bit and when he does he dosent seem to like it tbh, think I seen him nearly get sparked a few fights ago not too sure if it was him though, memory is a bit sketchy, also supposedly the reason he boxed so bad in the 08 Olympics was because Darren Sutherland gave him a good goin over in sparring just before Beijing which completely knocked his confidence, hopefully a good omen !

I have watched a few more clips of Korobov and I am not that impressed. He fights in bursts, but gets sloppy the longer the fight goes on and seems to get careless and the work rate drops. I fancy Lee's chances if he can stay out of harms way in the early rounds.

I did Lee on points 13/2.

Leaving tomorrow morning for the States, can't wait to hit Vegas for this fight! C'mon da f**K Andy Lee! And the newwwwww!

There's a place called the Internet. Check it out. Most people out there are FAR MORE critical of Andy Lees boxing ability than I am. Are THEY all ****heads too? Is everyone that doesn't agree with you a ****head?
Yes, my preferred option would be for Andy to call time on him boxing career. I make no bones about it.
But since he is in the fight he may as well win it. So you bet I am 100% behind him to win.
You are forgetting too that I have said repeatedly that he CAN do it. Korobov is no great shakes, not unbeatable by any means. :bbb
