You post fairy-stories of Internet only Frampton fights...and you call ME deluded? Seriously, Macklin has lost sharpness badly through inactivity. You can't fight as infrequently as he has been doing and not have it catch up to you
Never stated anything otherwise, if you read the post it says "rumour going around" and so it turns out to be a rumour ! Who knows if there was any truth to it ? Name one fighter at Macklins level who fights every 2 months, please enlighten me !
I KNOW it's not common today. Inactivity is a cancer in boxing. If Matt had a few quick-fire fights ....never mind the opposition...in quick succession, he MIGHT regain some sharpness? What's wrong with that? If it works he resumes trying for the top. If not, he retires for good. I repeat ..what's wrong with that, Moorser?
Not a bad suggestion IMO but, realistically, would Macklin be willing to fight as regularly as you suggest?
Why doesn't John Duddy comeback..? Not the most skilled but certainly could fight and was exciting.. Anyways he was a smart guy. He's probably rich now...
Duddy is doin alright as an actor, hes got a part in DeNiros movie alongside the man himself about Roberto Duran and he also starred in a Bon Jovie Video.
Finally, someone who gets it. And who asks the killer question... The answer is simple BK....if Matt isn't willing and prepared to do this , then it just proves his appetite for boxing is gone and ...well you know what he needs to do.
Nothing wrong with fighting a few times a year but once every 2 months is not going to happen and 3 times a year for a top fighter is the max !
