Thanks a lot BJ.....that's a BIG help!!! :huh Anyway insure you wouldn't get banned....so out with it.....
Dutchie is back! There must be an Andy Lee fight coming up.... Seriously though there is no law against posting at OTHER times too, Dutchie... Be good to hear more from you! Anyway..the fight... It's not that I think Quillin is particularly BETTER than Andy overall. It's just that I can't see Andy being treated fairly on points. Look at his last fight...there is no way he lost all 5 completed rounds. No way. But Andy is a grown man and has made what he believes To be the best overall choice for his career, his finances etc...and personally I agree with him. He could have gone for the "safer option" against BJS over here where the judging would have been fair. But he isn't getting any younger and he wants to bank a few bob...I understand that. But everyone needs to understand his chances of coming back with that title are as slim as his physique!
In my opinion Andy has about a 25% chance of a ko win. (And since I feel he can't win on points that means I feel he has a 25% chance of winning overall). Andy has kod opponents in the past, but they've been weak opposition. He has no kos against someone of Quillins level. Andy occasionally lands a beauty fair enough, but in general his overall punching power doesn't seem too destructive to me.
He's horrible to watch though, he fights like some drunk down the pub in spite of a solid amateur background. I see Spike O Sullivan is sparring with 12-0 prospect Mark De Luca. What you you think of him IB, I never saw him fight? Himself and spike will probably be appearing on quite a few cards together in the future.
George Groves's trainer and another Irishman in Paddy Fitzpatrick is training him now. O'Kane said in a recent interview that Fitzpatrick is trying to change how O'Kane's style, try to turn him into more of a thinking fighter, which I hope pays dividends
I found it hard to see him land a single punch on John Ryder. Baffling that he adopted such an incredibly self-destructive approach to his boxing style, especially since he was a well-skilled and well-schooled amateur. Baffling. They are trying to get him to revert to a more technical-boxing style these days. Another thing ...in O Kane's favour..is that he has a very very impressive physique. He really looks the part when you see him up close live. He really is a very fit-looking, strong-looking middleweight.
no alas i watch from afar :verysad more on okane Eamonn OKane has been handed a golden opportunity to edge closer to a shot at the IBF World title. The middleweight will fight for the IBF Inter-Continental title on May 2 at Lavey Community Centre near Maghera. The clash against an un-named opponent will also be an IBF World title eliminator. OKane is ranked eight by the IBF so winning on May 2 could mean he is named as mandatory challenger for the title. :good
A hurler on the ditch eh? ,,...and I thought you were committed?! That IBF title is as unwanted as a red-head stepchild! The fact they're now putting a guy like Ewamonn in the mix shows how desperate the situation is...and no opponentatsch. Still wish him all the best as usual..maybe it's a good omen...if Eamos La can tiocfaidh...eh?
being committed can only get u so far... everyone cant be there...way too many people [and most of them elected] wanting to be there... this humble foot soldier knows his place [for the moment:hey] i wonder who is promoting this derry show:think :good
