Well ok, but realistically Quigg is far and away the "best"option of that lot. KG is so inactive he might as well be retired. Mares has never mentioned fighting anyone over here. Donaire could well come here to fight alright...but not Carl, Quigg. I could see Quigg-Donaire happening this year if Carl-Quigg falls through. Nonito would see Quigg as the easiest route back to a title at 122. Nonito would see Quigg as very beatable.
Eddie wont have the money to get Donaire for Quigg on normal Sky and I reckon Barry could, Mares has already said he would love to fight Frampton.
Quigg HAS to do something this year. He just can't go fighting low-level guys. So if Frampton falls through, don't be surprised to see Quigg v Donaire, or even... Quigg v Rigo!
Sad to see john Joe Nevin in yet more trouble. He needs serious help, his life is spiralling out of control. Otherwise more than just his boxing career will be at stake. He is obviously a very flawed, weak, vulnerable, "at risk" guy who should have stayed co****ed in the comfort-blanket of the Amateur Set-up.
Ive said it before but Nevin should up sticks and base himself in America like Quigley has done. Leave all the nonsense and poisonous atmosphere behind him and concentrate on his career.
I don't think it's as simple as just moving to another country for him STB. Besides, by now I think there's every chance jj is an alcoholic. No do you run away from that? The best he can hope for is to become a ken Egan rather than a Darren Sutherland. His boxing career is the least of his worries, and is probably over anyway.
Best of luck to andy lee. Let's hope he gets off to a better start in this fight than his last two. Also let's hope for fair judging...dodgy scoring I fear will be his downfall, not Quillin. I give andy about 25% chance of winning and actually getting the decision.(50% in a neutral venue)
I hope you are able to back you're claim up. Calling someone an alcoholic is big. And STB is right, moving to another country can help him, his envioroment is bringing him down and affecting him mentally causing him to drown out whatever **** that's going on in his life with gargle. I left Ireland myself with several habits and got my head in the game once I wasn't around poisonous people. Now enough with the Jeremy Kyle ****e. C-mon Andy!!!!!! I hope he comes out like a man possessed at the 1st bell, been watching a lot of KC and if Lee jumps on him I think he can stop him.
That's a bit childish Mossey, saying I'm "calling JJ an alcoholic". The warning signs are there and have been in the public domain for some time. In fact given your own "self-confessed" history I'm surprised you didn't beat me to it. STb is being too simplistic saying the solunion is to move away. Travellers don't just go abroad alone like STBS does. They like to stick to their own people. Besides there is just as much temptation ..if not more...in the US. Anyway I'm glad you overcame your problems, and hopefully JJ can too, but at the moment it doesn't seem likely IMO. Andy v Quillin should be a great fight. He does need to start faster, but he needs to be careful too. Quillin is no great shakes but he ha power in both hands and is dangerous. Ideally he should go all out to give Quillin a good fright early on and put manners on him. The judges will be looking for any excuse to give rounds to Quillin, so Andy can't be complacent or coast at all.
what would lead you to beleive that JJN is an alcoholic? also the best our great amateur ever at 25 can hope for is a failed career or it will be suicide? don't you think your a bit well insane?
