To: the boxing world I hereby think that to promote the sport of boxing, a channel dedicated to the greatest sport on earth should be created. I know there is a lot of legal issues to get round regarding rights etc but if there can be a golf channel there can be a boxing channel! It can feature weekly highlights, anniversary interviews, studio debate, phone-ins etc. The channel may have the power to actually create the fights that the fans want, should it be successful. It doesn't have to be the greatest looking production but it could ending up being the very thing that gets the sport talked about again. If you believe in this cause and think that there should be a boxing channel then please, please sign it. If enough interest is drummed up it can happen. Shaun Brown Sincerely, http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?boxing09&1
That would be throwing Walsh to the wolves a bit, still it's good to have Irish title fights and good Irish fighters matched against each other. But Haughian will surely win comfortably enough.

http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=18418&more=1 an article on Billy Walsh about his Irish title fight with Stephen Haughian.
Got to agree with that. Haughian is younger fresher and importantly part of the Breen team and that means top of the line training and sparring. Billy does carry a wallop though so that will be his main hope. Great to see these fights coming off irish lads should fight each other more often and build up mini rivalries forget about the 0 behind their name.
This is a good matchup, Haughian on points http://www.irish-boxing.com/stories/january09/jan09_haughian_walsh.html

Jesus yeah, talk about a tough break for Balmau. We all probably are well aware of Bedak (and his brother) especially from his battle with Paddy Barnes. And now to fight Acosta - ouch! Acosta to KO him within two rounds - Acosta is much bigger than Bedak and also Belmau.
