he wasnt fat...I was surprised how good his shape looked...knowing he didnt train...although that was only superficial and doesnt tell what shape he was in fitness-wise
Doug please...please...!! He looked like some middle-aged tourist that was walking (er ...waddling) past the arena when someone caught his arm and dragged him in to box on the fly with 5 mins notice. As for being 'Caught Cold' ^...come on Fra...seriously..
ok..we are talking about 'fat' here...and in modern heavyweight boxing..without seeing what he was about to do..or not to do...this isnt that fat by modern heavyweight standards... http://www.***********.com/uploads/91310/povetkin-perez (3).jpg
Nobody wanna talk about it? :smooch About time a British Isles nation voted correctly on something. :deal(looking at you, referendum-ball-dropping Scots!)
That stokes lad is very impressive,Nevin would have to much for crocker who whilst very good is a bit of a brawler,Stokes will be a bigger challenge to Nevin but one i think he will pass anyway,Good strength in depth though,
In all fairness, Butts - with the country in tatters, conned into paying foreign bankers 64 billion euro - there are BIGGER priorities. this was just a cynical pr stunt by a desperate govt, just a distraction, smoke and mirrors...there are far more important 'rights' that need to be asserted here in the BRK (Banana Republic of Knackeragua). ...and the canny Scots got it perfectly right! Come on Spike! :bbb
Yeah and Jason Harty won athe European Juniors today, beaten semi finalist Lorcan Hurley got best boxer and Jim O'Reilly got silver, think he is a brother of Michaels.
Lorcan Hurley scooped the Best Technical Boxer Award at the European Junior Championships in Lviv, Ukraine today. The Tramore BC ace, a multiple Irish champion, was on the receiving end of a highly controversial “defeat” to Javid Huseynov in Friday’s semi-finals. The talented Azeri light-fly was awarded a unanimous decision. However, Hurley, who clearly won the fight, received a standing ovation leaving the ring from Irish and neutral fans. Irish team manager Stephen Connelly said that Hurley, who aged 14 is the youngest member of the 13-strong Irish squad in Lviv, was a credit to Irish boxing. “Lorcan has had a fantastic tournament this week and he represented his country with pride inside and outside the ring, he said. “We absolutely delighted that he has received this award and the totally deserves it and he has been outstanding in this weight class all week.” Jason Harty (gold), Jim O’Reilly (silver), Lorcan Hurley (bronze) and Anthony Johnston (bronze) finished in podium positions for Ireland in Lviv. The Irish squad are due to arrive home at 1:35pm tomorrow,May 24th,via Dublin Airport.
Jason Harty was crowned European Junior champion in Lviv, Ukraine this afternoon. But Jim O’Reilly had to settle for 80kg silver are losing out in the light-heavy decider to Arkadii Kartsan of the Ukraine. Harty (Rathkeale BC, Limerick) beat Poland’s Eryk Apresyan on a unanimous decision to finish on top of the light-welter podium. “It was a brilliant and very technical performances from Jason, said Irish team manager Stephen Connolly. “The coaches sat down this morning and worked out the tactics and it went accordingly and we’re delighted with the gold medal. Overall, we’re happy with the medals, but it could have been more because the decision against Lorcan Hurley yesterday was very poor. All of the team gave it everything this week and the coaching staff have done a tremendous job.” Harty, a silver medalist at the 2013 European Schoolboy Championships, earned his gold the hard way. Apresyan was certainly a game opponent, who came forward at every opportunity. He was probably edging the exchanges in the first half of the opening round, but Harty showed his ring craft and shot selection – two uppercuts off both hands near the end of the second were probably the pick of his punches – en route to securing a European title for his country. The third frame was tight also, Apresyan pouring forward, Harty replying with slick counters. The three-rounder ended up in a tangle in the Irish corner. Irish coach Billy McClean gave Harty a hug and a pat on the head and he returned to the centre of the ring to deservedly have his hand raised in triumph. O’Reilly, seeking to become the second Portlaoise BC athlete to win European Junior gold since Michael Nevin in 2014, finished the opening round of today’s final with Arkadii Kartsan on the front foot, three solid right finding the target approaching the bell. But the technical Ukrainian southpaw began using his jab and hooks to greater effect in the second. O’Reilly finished the third and final frame going all out for victory, but Kartsan was not going to be denied on the day. “Jim was in against a very good opponent and we have no complaints. He can be very proud of his performances out here He’s had a fabulous tournament. It was a very good display from Jason in a close fight with the Polish lad and we’re delighted to get the gold, said Irish coach Billy McClean. “The entire squad performed well in the face of a tough draw. We’ve also had some terrible decisions against us this week, particularly the decision that went against Lorcan Hurley. We’re happy with the four medals.” McClean, Gerry McDaid and Dmitri Dmitruk were working Ireland’s corner in Lviv. Harty (gold), O’Reilly (silver), Anthony Johnston (bronze) and Lorcan Hurley (bronze) finished in podium position in Lviv to a ensure a high finish in the medals table for Ireland. The Irish squad won 15 of their 27 bouts at the 19th edition of the European Junior Championships. Doug ---> stop digging! For Porky Perez to be even remotely taken seriously as a pro athlete - he would have to weigh no more than 210-215 max for his frame. Fitter guys than that go for a jog three times a week. He moved like a beached whale in there. Shambolical! Mike 'El Gordo' Perez. Feeble......Moorser the Postman who posts on here (pun) is fitter than that eejit, just from walking around Ballymun delivering a few letters and dodging the odd Jack Russell! Send him back to Cuba. Deport him now, I say, on grounds of being an embarassment to his adopted country.
Exciting win --> will win Spike fans, but he needs to work on his approach and defense and technique.....
