Frampton signs with Haymon Undefeated IBF Super Bantamweight world champion and emerging superstar Carl "The Jackal" Frampton is pleased to announce that he has signed a deal to work with influential boxing advisor Al Haymon. Haymon currently works with a number of leading boxers including Floyd Mayweather, Amir Khan, Robert Guerrero , Adrien Broner, Erislandy Lara, Danny Garcia and many others. Al Haymon will work as an advisor to Carl Frampton, who will continue to be managed by IBHOF member Barry McGuigan and promoted by Cyclone Promotions. Speaking on the agreement, Frampton said: I am very happy to have signed with Al Haymon. Al Haymon has a formidable reputation in boxing and has been the catalyst to securing the biggest fights in recent years. This is an exciting stage of my career after winning my world title, and my team and I know that this relationship with Al Haymon will help take my career to the next level. I am looking forward to it. Frampton's manager and former World Champion Barry McGuigan said: "We are delighted to add Al Haymon to the team. Al Haymon is the best at what he does, there is no question about this. Al works with many world class fighters in the super bantamweight and featherweight divisions, so there will be plenty of attractive fights for Carl in the coming years. Carl is moving towards the peak of his career and we believe this is the perfect time to strike up this partnership." There will be news of Carl Frampton's second defense of his World Title coming soon. is this good or bad... honestly am divided on this:good
^ Time will tell --> will this mean him fighting in the US? He had to do something though - times awastin'....
Some opponents up on boxrec for the Dublin show. Pretty poor tbh. Although Cruise and Fitzpatrick should be a good dust up. Imo Frampton signing with Haymon is a good move. Hopefully he announces a fight soon. Be a shame if he only got 2 defences in this year.
I still can't get over Team Frampton turning down £1,500,000 for a no-strings-attached one-off fight with Quigg. :-( :yikes
****s, R.I.P great little boxer was really looking forward to his career, this **** seems to follow Irish boxers around latley, Turner nearly getting stabbed to death, Martin J Ward shot and now this, heart goes out to his family, devastating.
Very sad to hear of a young life taken violently. McGee snr was involved in a lot of trouble too in his day. If we're to be honest these people are no angels. This is not a 'boxing' problem per se. It is a societal problem. If people can't behave themselves....
atsch boys will be boys.. but if some low life pulls knife in a fist fight.. theres only one person to blame:good
DOJ ON NOW. Robbery in the making? David had his man down in second but no count, also unpunished holding. I gave DOJ 2nd by two, fourth and fifth, his opponent first and third so far.
A subtle robbery for the home fighter, allowed to hold, ran all night and never told to stand and engage. a slippery flashy fighter, all the power from DOJ, all the agression, most of it effective. Stunned his man two or three times, probably should have jabbed to the chest more and doubled up the left hook. the no count in the second-definite KD- and the close rounds against him meant he was never going to win unless he sparked him.
Ward isnt fighting a home fighter in either fight thank god, love Joyce but knew he would be robbed today especially after that knockdown that wasnt counted.
