Bookies dont have a clue in the Ams. Its easier to catch a bookie off guard as the "dont know where the market is", as they say in my line of work.

Even their pro odds can be a little iffy at times.

I should have seen that myself. I think we should all clam up for now and wait in the long grass for the Worlds?

Sauerland Event has announced the opponents for WBA interim super welterweight champion “Golden Jack” Culcay and unbeaten super middleweight contender Tyron Zeuge, who are sharing top billing on a September 26 card at the Max Schmeling Halle in Berlin, Germany. The show commemorates the 35th anniversary of Hall of Fame promoter Wilfried Sauerland’s first event on German soil. Culcay (20-1, 10 KOs) will make his first title defense against undefeated Australian Dennis “Hurricane” Hogan (22-0-1, 7 KOs), who has had his last three bouts in U.S.A.

    Can he do it:think

Culcay beat Willie McLoughlin back in 2008. Zeuge by the way beat Kenny Egan and believe it or not, Ruarie Dalton, that one back about 2007.Tough fight for Hogan but it's a great opportunity also.

Ive seen Culcay ....hes a midget but is a good boxer... hogan needs to use his strength and push culcay back all the time..... i think pressure and then more pressure is the key to a hogan win... but its most likely a pts win for culcay:good

I hope Hogan can do it. After the amateur Europeans, it would be great if RTE picked it up.:deal

Hogan has done a brilliant job getting this far with his ability(no offence meant) think this is a step to far but he will get some more big fights from it,

It's great innit. There was always an air of unreality about Limerick bill to be honest. I don't think was zen was ever serious about it. Flanagan is a tough hombre isn't he. I've done my quota of travelling for this year so I won't be going. Don't think the venue will affect Andy ....not much anyway. Still think billy on points. Cheers.

    The girls are performing well

Delighted to report that it was another extremely successful day for the Irish squad at the European Youth and Junior Championships in Keszthely, Hungary on Wednesday.
Dundalk’s Amy Broadhurst stopped her Hungarian opponent Marietta Kiss in the 4th round and is now through to her second successive European semi-final.Next up is Sweden’s Sofia Nilson on Thursday evening.
“Absolutely delighted! Happy with how I boxed and even happier to have landed my 4th European medal in the bag, I box Sweden tomorrow and hopefully I can change the colour,” said Broadhurst, who be hoping for better luck in Keszthely following her highly controversial defeat in Assisi in the 2014 final.
Also in the ring tomorrow will be Amy’s first cousin, Orla Garvey in the Junior event as she takes on Turkey’s Havanur En in the 57kg semi-final.
In the Junior championships there were three more wins on Wednesday, the first of which was Chloe Callender of Ryston out boxing her Romanian opponent,Christina Borah 3-0.
Chloe told us later : “I’m delighted to have got this far in the competition. I fight Hungary on Friday for a possible silver medal, I am looking forward to it – thank you everyone for your support!”
Always difficult to defeat a host nation boxer on their home ‘soil’ but after her displays this week, if anyone can, Chloe can. She faces up to Gabriella Karolyi in what promises to be one of the bouts of the week so far.
World Junior bronze medallist Kelsey Leonard, from the Curragh ABC, and Lauren Kelly (St Brigid’s Edenderry) also won their last-eight bouts and thus they too are now guaranteed a medal.
Lauren Kelly took the early route to victory stopping Croatia’s Annamarita Krali in the first and Leonard scored a unanimous win over Kamilla Finesz – yes, another Hungarian. Leonard now faces Ukraine’s World silver medallist Katerina Rohara on Friday.
Ireland is now guaranteed nine medals – two Youth and seven Junior – from this year’s Championships.
The quarter-final stage of the tournament has now been completed.
