    Are you reporting now Paddy?

A question Im sure a lot of the guys on here might want to ask is, how does he feel about Warren going back on his word, when he promised Martin he would fight for the European title in the Kings Hall.:yep

That was the first question i wrote down on my note pad.

Im also going to ask him some standard questions about prizefighter (for U.S. fans who may not have been familiar with it) and some questions about the Fraudley fight so if theres anything you want answered give me a shout!
The interview will be released in a week or 2 (im doing it now because he'll have his phone off in training camp)

Ive been messing around on blogtalk radio for the last while i had the intention of doing a segment on irish/british boxing

Im recording a segment with Gary Hyde later so ive got a few questions about the cubans and McCrory.

Im hoping to do a live interview with Dean Byrne in the coming weeks.

theres a few other surprises lined up that I cant talk about yet but im looking forward to it.

My boxing knowledge isint the best but Ive learned a hell over the past few months so i hope to keep on improving it.

I'd agree with you, slapbangwhallop, it was only one side. But from my experience in journalism, my guess is that Hauser would have tried to make contact and his calls were not returned, or the lads wouldn't comment or cooperate with the story.

If that was the case, Hauser should have pointed it out, even at the end. Nothing is ever black and white, but nevertheless Hauser makes a compelling case. Investigative journalism at its best, and a skill I will only ever dream about having.

    Gladiator,

I put your questions to Gary Hyde only minutes ago, and in his own words, he said he would be crazy not to look to the US in the future. But in the short-term, he wants them kept busy and that means fighting regularly in Ireland and Britain.

They are settled here in Cork, and want for nothing. They love doing the roadwork around the city and county in Cork, and with the quality training and sparring in Newcastle in Glenn McCrory's gym, they'll only get better.

I'd hope to see a television network pick them up soon, and with the performances they keep producing, they can't be ignored. As you said yourself, Gamboa was just another "one to watch" a couple of years ago.

Medium to long term, then the USA and Canada is definitely on the horizon for big fights. My guess would be 2010 when the records and quality opponents establish them as stars in the making.

On another note - I see a poster on another forum has described Perez as overweight, slow and disinterested in the past. I don't like to be disrespectful to other posters, but I would have to strongly disagree with that opinion.

He is potentially the fastest heavyweight out there, with beautiful hand speed. Disinterested? Not really, he is just hungry for better competition every time he knocks someone out. Overweight? Slightly so when he first came over, but he was getting used to Irish cuisine!!! You should have seen the condition of him the other night, it was the best I have seen him yet. He'd put Solis to shame with the sculpted shape he was in. 223 pounds of pure muscle.

    Hope that helps,
    Podge
