Podge, thanks a lot, that's exactly what I wanted to hear. Smart thing to keep them there for some time as they develop, and then conquer America in a few years.

Btw, I read the exact same comment about Perez in another forum and I also disagree. I haven't seen much from Perez but from what I was able to get online, he looks very promising.

    Thanks again.

Well lads how are ye all keepin. Apologies been snowed under with work, belated happy new year have kept tabs from time 2 time wen iv had spare time to check on the forum......alls quiet on the scene at the moment,we need the lads to get the momentum going again with some good fights and get the boxing scene buzzing again here.....what a difference a year makes!!!starting a new year we are looking at a whole world of possibilities, heres 5 things id like to happen in 09!
    1. Paul McCloskey to get the european strap,he has it well within his abilities.
    2. Bernard Dunne to challenge for a world title. Time to step it up bernard, truly test yourself with a fight against a world class opponent.
    3. Andy Lee. More fights, more exposure. This guy is top dollar, he needs to get back on the wagon.
    4. Martin Rogan, lets hope the guy further shocks the boxing world with the scalp of Skelton. He's good for the sport and deserves his chance.
5.John Duddy. This is the guy that got me into the boxing buzz as an up and coming lad in the states. He needs to sort out this contract wrangle, and take a really big fight this year toprove all the doubters wrong. If he doesent, his chance will pass. I still believe he has a title in him.

Good list dec. Yeah interest has shifted from Duddy and Lee in the last year to a lot of other boxers. The interest in Hyde's Cubans is big, with Dunne, McCloskey, Lindsay, Sutherland, Rogan, Magee and Haughian all topping bills in the near future. So alls looking good man.

Napa has been on Sky a right few times. He has no punch, but is very skillful. Paul has a chance of upsetting him and winning his title of him, but I have to say Paul would start as a big underdog.:deal

Big rogie wasnt eligable to fight for the EBU title as he wasnt in thier top 10 rankings

When he beats Matt Skelton, Skelton will have to drop the title and rogan will be installed as the number one contender.

Rogie said that the fight is on in birmingham because its bigger than the Kings Hall and Warren knew he would pack it out with the Olympians being on the undercard.

Warren has gone on record saying that if Martin beats Skelton his next fight will be in the Kings Hall

the interview with rogan was ground breaking initally it was scheduled for 15 minuts as he was busy with training we got on like a house on fire so he asked me to call him back later and we talked for an hour

I was using a new software on my phone to cut out the beep and of course i only got the first 5 minutes of the interview recorded im gutted over it as some of the things martin was talking about were inspirational!

I feel i owe it to him to write an artical atleast as he gave me quite a bit of his time

when he beats skelton I'll get another interview with him and hopefully it will come together.

I got intouch with young Dean Byrne last night I will have an interview with him late next week. Some interesting talking points i wont get into just yet....

Were in the process of lining up Michael Jennings before his cotto fight

and ive made enquiries on getting Michael Gomez on aswell

all will be revealed next week :D

I asked him if theres anyone he would like to fight in the future and he said "theres a lad down the falls road that gives me stick everytime he gets in my taxi after a few pints. Id love to fight him."

Then he gave a serious answer that he would like to fight Hasim Rahman.

He also said he would love to fight Kevin McBride either in Ireland or in America for the Irish HW Title.

We talked a little about the support he recieved during the Audley fight he said he had a wee look at Frank Warrrens face and he was looking around at everyone around him singing Ole Ole Ole.

Rogie says " when i heard Ole Ole Ole, I though Steve Staunton had walked in"

hes a great charachter He won the Magners George Best Breaktrough award last night so we talked a little about that .

He talked about his preperation for prizefigher and Audley.

Im really gutted that i didnt get the recording but I really enjoyed the interview and I know Big Rogie did too!

So i can definately see me getting him the future.

I had respect for him before talking to him but i have to say his whole attitude blew me away hes really a credit to himself

Ive got some dvds of bernard dunnes fighters from when he was in america so I'll be studying them with a view to getting him on in the future and asking him a few question about his time in america that maybe he hasnt been asked before.

Just watched an interview with John Duddy there on bbc news northern ireland. Hes speaking for the first time on the break up with the McLoughlins. He revealed in the interview how he discovered that he was not being paid his full entitlements by the McLoughlins, and that the brothers relationship between tony and eddie was a major factor with the money probs. Also revealed that the doomed title fight with vernophillips made up his mind. But heres the good news- HE'S BACK FIGHTING IN MARCH:happy
