Hope nobody listened to me i put 100 on and he was just beaten,I thought he had enough done in the last the cut was a nasty one though,i wonder did that sway judges? Ill just stick to commenting from now on...
He just lost, Id consider them odds fair or a bit unfair to the Kazakh , asenov has only recently turned senior and the Kazakh is good
Ward was out on his feet that last round, conditioning maybe still a problem Still gets the job done though
For two rounds he looked so good,so fit for once and was cruising then fell apart abit in the third,The unkranian dominated him and joe prob should have got at least one count, The crowd didnt like it but two rounds to one win was the correct call, Medal in the bag because the lad from belarus is not very good at all, infact he is prob the weakest lad left in the group,so i suppose a wins a win and all that,
...and that Qatar fella got a gift/robbery in his previous fight. Not sure if Ward gassed or just lack belief in his fitness to dig deep which was needed to keep the Ukrainian at bay.
I think it was more to the other guy landing a few shots that had Ward out on his feet rather than fitness... I hope. Cos Ward looked very fit and strong at the Europeans
In fairness the Ukrainian had a serious work rate. Another area of improvement for Joe other than his stamina is his defence, relying on reflexes to avoid shots when you are shattered is a bad idea. Longer term, I dont think his professional game prospects look as stellar as some say, his ability to sustain 10-12 rounds at a high level is questionable
