Potentially MGM could have 2 world champions shortly - if BJS beats Andy and isn't Derry Matthews to fight Terry Flanagan? (Two big 'ifs' I know!)

Would people welcome this as a good thing for Irish boxing? Would this give Irish boxing more "clout"?

Well there you go. Could MGM be on the verge of making a breakthrough and becoming a serious promotional outfit able to compete with the big boys?

We are all here Len waiting fir you to be proved wrong again,:rofl
I Believe andy will use his size and ring generalship in this one,
BJS is an extremely talented boxer with fast hands and combos, but i see Andy using all that experience gained in the amateur code in the kronk and now with Booth to make Saunders move a little more that he wants to and have to exchange a little bit more than he wants to,
Watching Billy he needs to set before he throws those fast flurries and if andy can keep him off balance by snaking out a jab looking for a back hand he will do just that,Saunders will be wary of anything coming from Andy because he has proved to have one punch ko power so we will see him reacting more to avoid getting hit,
Billy joe may well be the best true boxer andy has been in with as a pro but he is far from the toughest and in a 12 round championship fight toughness is a very highly required trait,

Sure you only come on here every 2 months as it is!
Anyway I couldnt take the chance - this thread needs me!

    Lets see:
    He was lucky against Hortha
    He was lucky against Fitz
    He was lucky against Jackson
    He was lucky against Korobov
    He was lucky against Quillin

Will the Lanky Limerick Lefty get lucky again?

Strong post from a man of conviction - I respect that! :thumbsup
But this time Andy is going a welterweight too far!
Billy Joe to win on points - UD 12!

I think lee will have to win this by stoppage, but the thing is I've yet to see BJS hurt in his career although he hasn't fought anyone with Lee's power before

Sorry about silence lads but between my twin boys ,full time job and training twice a day don't have much free time!

I'm going with Andy Lee and not just because he's irish , BJS will win first 4 to 6 rounds then Lee will find range with saunders slowing and score late KO after dominating second half of fight.

Spikes fitness was fine in camp ear drum was perforated early in fight and balance went with it. Really think Eubanks is there for taking if spike kept to his jab and upped workrate could had success in championship rounds.
Eubanks nose was broke brilliant athlete and workrate but could see him struggling and breathing through his mouth.

Promotor Ken Casey was over and is close to either a world title or eliminator for Ormond by Paddys weekend 👍

That's a very good point Marty. People are overlooking BJSs toughness. He must be a lot tougher than he looks - he is really a tiny middleweight mixing with huge middleweights. He cant be doing that without being a tough little so-and-so.

People assuming an Andy ko is a formality might be in for a rude awakening!

Upyaboyya Luke - knew you'd come through for us! :happy

I agree with your assessment, just wonder why Spike abandoned his jab and bodyshots: even with balance gone he could have thrown a bit more of both than he did surely? Or clinched and held and mauled? Spike took huge punishment in 5-6-7 literally walking forward into a hail of punches face first = what a brave man.

Speaking of people taking punishment - you have babies + a full time job + training twice a day??? WTF!
You are seriously in danger of overdoing it kid - you better mind yourself. All you're short is to get run down, a bad flu or something and bang goes your next fight. Get some rest over Xmas.

^ just now read about you giving up work, phew! You have to though - its one thing if a guy beats you cos he is better, but how would you feel if you lost to some guy due to being burned out, that you know you would beat if you were fresh....Wise move.

Anyone know of any bars around Belfast showing this? Doubt many would pay for Boxnation.
