Thanks Paddy, was Eddie Hyland not boxing either. What did you think of Ormond. I watched him in the seniors. What did you think of him as a pro.

Yeah the show was packed I think Dolphil are just getting started so Im going to expect them to step it up (in terms of size) with every show which is the right way to do things.

I really enjoyed the show theres nothing like these small shows for atmosphere.

Robbie Long and Anthony Fitzgerald was DEFINATELY the fight of the night hopefully the footage of it find its way to youtube!

I may be wrong here, but I have a gut feeling that in a couple of years Dolphil could rival Peters. I suppose its all about good shows and a rising star to latch on to.But everything ATM seems to be positive with these guys. What do you think Paddy.:deal

From 1880 throught he 1930's many of the best fighters were of Irish origin. Great tradition.

thats right they are definately going the right way about it!

they definately arent getting in bums to fight they're getting in durable fighters that are going to go the distance.

Gary Hyde did the same but unfortunately the Cubans were that good.

Garcia showed this again last night.

Thanks friend, but most of the great Irish fighters you talk about were second generation Irish or Irish men that fought abroad. We are hoping to change that now with home grown talent fighting for top honours on Irish soil. But thanks for the compliment.:good

Is Mike McTigue the only Irish man to claim a World Title on Irish soil?

It's a bit late and my brain is a bit scrambled but I can't think of anyone else. There might be loads but none spring to mind

Thats a shame about Shane. It would have been a good measuring stick against the likes Sheahan. Maybe his aul man does not want to take a risk with him at this time.:think

    Lads,

I had a bit of work to take care of yesterday so the DolPhil report will be going up this afternoon. Fair to say it was a privilege to see the Long-Fitzgerald fight. Unbelievable.
