Im tempted but Haye / Macca and Hopkins / JC have hit the budget a bit. I'd be more interested in a Pavlik / Lee fight at the end of the year. He's got more of a chance than Duddy although Pavlik / Duddy can't fail to have fireworks!

    You going yourself?

Any news on Macklin, all I know is he did not appear on the Lee undercard. Was pleased to get to watch McCloskey none the less.

    Go Irish Boxing!!!

P.S. I noticed on the last couple of fights I've had the priveledge to catch on RTE that the Ref is the sole judge of the fight. That's the first time I've ever seen that, is it always like that for Irish fights?

I guess I hadn't taken note before because all of the fights I'd seen on RTE didn't go the distance.

i think the irish rules are similar to the british rules in that the ref both scores and referees nontitle fights....whereas there is judges used for title fights...macklin opponent got sick so his fight was called of on saturday....macklin is now going to train with mayweather senior in the USA....

Just to clear up about Macklin. His opponent was on the way to the airport (in france i believe)when he got a call that his little girl had a very bad fall down some stairs and was rushed to hospital. That was thursday evening so there wasnt time to get a replacement.I was very dissapointed but hope the little one is ok.

Read a great quote from James M., something like He didn't want to be at a construction site at 35 years old, wishing he had stayed with boxing, so he wants to give it his all. Good for you James, all the best, stay focused and get your big shot!
