Looking at their prizefighter fight again, Doran looks like a very composed boxer. Luke will need to be good tomorrow.

I agree but a weakness with Doran is that he likes to exchange and you have to favour the heavier handed irish man when that happens

condolences to Luke ...and huge credit for the courage he showed.

But it is what it is...he lost the run of himself and paid the price.

The only question now is: Are Lukes shortcomings fixable?

No point in kidding ourselves/himself - he looked powerful and incredibly brave, but tactically clueless, stiff, wooden, crude and limited. You're going nowhere if you carry on like that. (Sorry Luke but theres no point in sugar-coating it, mate)

(One other thing - the ref! Very indecisive stoppage -allowed luke to get hit with several unnecessary and potentially damaging shots - that last right hand gave me a fright - left Luke d****d over the rope in an alarming fashion, like Ishida when GGG creamed him)

very harsh Len I think Luke got a bit right hand happy after the knock down and paid the price for it. Terrible disappointed for him.

Agreed it must be heart breaking after all the work and sacrifice he put into it. But it is what it is. If a guy can't introduce a bit more variety into his game than that then he needs to seriously think about calling it a day.

Recent events have shown us....again....that boxing is the wrong business for a one dimensional guy with too much courage and not enough skill, Marty.

What about the way the ending was handled by the ref, Ian John Lewis eh? Bad job for me. :)

thanks but once was enough. I hope Luke can come back but he seriously needs to keep a cooler head in the ring and not react to his mates or anything else that is going on outside of the boxing. The way he steamed in after the first knock down was madness, if he had of waited for the right opening he might of got Doran out of there.

Yeah it was a great fight while it lasted. I think Luke even in defeat will get on another few Matchroom cards. He really needs to sort out his defence at times but he is still able to come back from this defeat and make a healthy living.
