Bloody hell, you'd need a PhD in logistics to keep track of all that! It's all far too complicated for me!!! I admire the dedication of you guys who follow the amateur game.
Great win for Dean Gardiner. One of his best ever i'd say. Fights a moldovian in the semis now and needs gold in order to qualify for Rio.
I gave Gardiner now chance of qualifying before the tournament but no he could really do it. The moldovian was getting beat by bababin before he got injured so id fancy Gardiner to beat him In the final he will have to face Marlo Moore the Italian, near are brilliant and i think he has beaten the Italian before. Love to see him qualify
Yeah I was the same as you but it's a live possibility now with the Russian out. Great win today and great performance so far. The Azeri isn't quite as good as the one O'Reilly has beaten before and if he gets fair play he can do it.
A boxer I used to train, Tommy Conroy beat the Italian 16-12 back in 2012 in a Youth contest, Gardiner has split two contest with Vianello , winning the last one 3-0.
Apparently Marlo Moore is quite good. Interestingly he trains alongside Con Sheehan with Virgil Hunter, hopefully Con could give Breakfast a few hints and tips
O'reilly facing a Azebaijani in Baku for a place in the Olympics, I have a feeling he's gonna get robbed again...
The guy O'Reilly is fighting used to represent Kazakhstan too , bit of a nomad but is certainly better than probably any other of the quarter finalists, iv a feeling he will get shafted
Con and dean are good friends , if he does face Marlo on the final con will be given him all the advice, then again Moore will be getting advice on dean from billy Walsh so its only fair. I hope Gardiner qualifies will be great for tipperary
O'Reilly is much better than Shakhsuvarly, the worry is about the judging for sure. I think Musalov is the better Azeri at 75kg, Musalov even beat Shakhsuvarly in the Azeri nationals last year
Legal link to Baku.http://www.aiba.org/blog/watch-live-world-olympic-qualification-event-baku-2016/ O'Reilly i'm guessing about one.
O'Reilly on his way to Rio, 29-28 all-round. Took the first two rounds. Stream went--usual AIBA ****. Delighted for Michael, he so deserved this and you know the extra bouts will stand to him in Rio. Now come on Dean!
Congrats to o 'Reilly. .too bad our boxing mettle doesn't translate into other areas of irish life eh.....and on this great day for democracy lets salute our British neighbours...they have a great leader and a proud people. We have neither.
