BTW I can't understand how Bachkov is allowed to box at these qualifiers. He isn't a pro and wasn't with the WSB or APB as far as I know?

Yeah it's a box off for third. If he beats the Armenian he'll get two shots at Rio

Didn't watch the terrible stream, gutted for Ray. Still don't know how Bachkov could enter.

I wouldnt be shocked if all the players are looking at getting this fight. Channel 5 might get it if none of Boxnation or Sky come in for it. For some reason think Sky might show it and build up a potential fight with Lee Selby against either Frampton or LSC. Also notice that Sky have been picking up a few more fights other than Matchroom shows. There doing a double header of the German show with Arthur Abrahaim and later they are showing the Wilder v Arreola fight too. So they are looking at showing potential fights for the Matchroom fighters be it champions or future World title fights.
Also makes sense with the Warrington v Hyland fight on earlier that night that they show it too later that evening. I am guessing Selby would be at either show or in a studio to build up either if not both fights. Guess we will know more in 2 weeks time.

Im abit confused about the celtic warrior gym fighters this week and a few things up on social media,
Stephen Ormonde saying he deserves a shot at the world title and when he does the british lads will have to come to him and Spike O Sullivan saying he is dropping back to 154 and wants the winner of canello and smith,
To my recollection both guys stepped up at british level twice and were beaten,(albeit against decent lads but the were well beaten)
What exactly do they think makes them deserving of these shots?
Or is it a celtic warrior thing of just getting name recognition out there without seriously expecting a return?(a bit like the brits in the brexit)

Thanks for the reply. I just find it strange that no one has claimed the coverage for one of the biggest fights of the year. Much lesser fights have been hyped by sky for months in advance. Why leave it so late?

I can't see anything wrong with what each guy is saying. Talking yourself up ...self promotion....is a vital part of the game today.
Ormond , below his best, ran turbo terry close. So he is a proven guy at or nearly at , world level. Spike was always a 154 fighter....and a big self publicist..no news there either.
What do you expect these guys to do...sit there and waste away?

Yeah true maybe Barry and the team are waiting to get the best money for Frampton from British tv not too sure. Seems with Carl after beating Quigg on box office and potential fights with bigger names if he beats LSC maybe they could well be looking at doing I dont a 3 fight deal with a tv company. A bit like Groves has a deal that his fights are on Sky why not for Carl. When you might have fights coming up with Gary Russell Jnr or Lee Selby if he gets the win makes sense for Sky to do that deal. While Boxnation will be waiting for the s****s along with Channel 5. I just cant not see the fight being shown on tv.

As for the Celtic Warrior fighters. The gym had a bad start with a few loses to start the year off so for some to call out fighters I think they should just focus on themselves for a bit before calling out champions. I think Ormond is the best bet for getting a title shot need to get into a eliminator fight in his next then a World title shot by the end of the year but he seems to be a bit inactive and needs to move into bigger fights sooner rather than later.

I think Rays only option now is to turn pro. Maybe with Hatton

The thing is does anyone think that Frampton can beat LSC. It's a tough ask
