Ffs. ***** horribilis for Irish boxing. From Regency to O'Reilly to this. Thank f&ck for Frampton - and hopefully the team bucks the trend in Rio.

Gutted too, you could have better your house on him banking at least bronze

Then a rematch against the Uzbek which is 50-50 and a final against the Cuban or Kazakh which he could win

He is still such a raw talent and we haven't seen the best of him u fortunerly similar to John Joe nevin ,all the talent in the world but no discipline and intelligence outside the ring

But then i consider discipline and intelligence outside the ring a talent in itself

Whatever about being beaten by better boxers....eg spike by CEJ...you can't do anything about that. But letting fights go on too long and missing weight by big amounts is down to human error.

Looks like things are becoming a little clearer about the o Reilly situation. Hopefully there Ivan be a satisfactory conclusion to his Rio adventures. If this turns out to be a non story a whole lot of people...including our irish media....will have questions to answer about their rush to judgement. Nothing like waiting for the full story....like actual facts.

Well I didn't want to put it that bluntly Marty. Ormond himself is a grown man and must take his share the f responsibility.
At 33 trying to get down to 135 weight class was always a risky venture. All he could manage was barely make light wetter weight 140. Sounds like his body can no longer do the weight at 135 sadly. Ormond has been a great bit of stuff by all accounts. Sad if it's all over for him. At this rate the Celtic warrior gym will be a fairly empty place soon, sadly. Unless he can rebuild at 140 at 33???? Big ask.

Doj has perfected the left elbow to the eye I see. Interesting new technique..😀

We are stil being kept in the dark about o Reilly though. Sickening the lack of clarity. Top coach said antia still says he knows no details. Is this good enough? "Sport Ireland " seem to be the taxpayer funded quango who did the test. Long past time for them to come clean about o Reilly not being clean! " banned substance" could be ANYTHING. Anything from megadoses of clenbuterol taken as part of an orchestrated cheating program .....down to a guy who took something innocently for a headache or to help him sleep or for hay fever...etc etc etc.
So where on that spectrum does o Reilly fall? We need to know. He has been crucified in the media..the court of public opinion....without us knowing the full facts. The " national shame" here is not the positive test .....it is the disgraceful rush to judgement by his countrymen.

Whatever the banned substance only o reilly can take the blame,he is a big boy and knows what he can take and what he can't,if he was unsure he should have asked,no sympathy from too many here.

Dutchie do you realise there are literally hundreds of things on the 'banned list'. Half of Ireland would have something banned in their system on any given day. Some of the 'banned ' substances are very very ordinary and harmless. O'Reilly may not be a 'drug cheat' at all.

(No disrespect but it is a bit simplistic to say what you said.)

We need to know the background facts here:

    For example:
    1. What did he take?
    2. How much of it did he take?
    3. How long was he taking it?

Why are we all being kept in the dark about this?
