Good post puca ..except Lukes fight wasn't close at aLl. He won widely in fairness. The positives were fitness tough chin and use of the right hand lead. But 100% his lack of head movement and sloppy low hands guard is a big worry. Why oh why won't Luke develop his jab better? It's a no brainier. Jab jab jab!
My concern is that if he gets tired in a long fight against good opposition, as fatigue sets in, without sound fundamentals a tired Luke will become a sitting duck.

The real story of the night though was the breakthrough of Cork man Noely Murphy. He is a real prospect and has massive support from his home place Macroom Co Cork.

Good fight this for the next bill, the winner certainly would be moved toward euro title level,

This has to be the way to go, we have a lot of irish fighters at the minute who arent going to go far in terms of euro or world level but we have some good tough skilled guys that would generate a lot of interest if they fight each other,
A few losses on the card wont stop these guys being matched against each other and its alot easier and more cost effective for promoters,
More publicity for the fighters (more money aswell) easier and more cost effective fights for the promoters and more interest for the spectators,

Yes he is. He works a construction job over there, as well as boxing. But did you notice the difference between the support for Luke and the support for Noel? - even at a Dublin venue! It appeared on-line as if he had much more support there. He is very well-liked and popular around Macroom. Im told he has always been super-fit and super dedicated. He might be a real prospect. Watching the two of them box live one after the other did you get the impression as to which was the more talented?

Thanks for support lads wasn't at my best but got win against good lad ranked a lot higher than me, show was delayed didn't get into ring until quarter to 12 so felt bit flat , taking nothing away from taylor he had to do same and fight closer than score cards suggest. Plan on going full time for next fight putting in proper camp don't want to have any regrets and get beaten by someone I shouldn't be due to lack of preparation. Loads to work on and improve but momentum is building I'll be back better in next fight

Kieran Farrell brings his successful fight night formula to The Devenish Complex, Belfast on 22nd April, once again charging the low price of £20.00 for unreserved tickets and stacking the card with quality bouts that will bring a mixture of thrills, knockouts, upsets and an atmosphere that just can’t be beat

When asked about the tough tests ahead, Farrell and his boxers are in full agreement that just like in his own career, the fighters must test themselves in every fight and be in top form to overcome an obstacle in the form of an opponent that is there to win, not to make up the numbers.

Headling the night is Feargal McCrory taking on Jay Carney for the International title, a bout could go either way as both men are going into this absolutely full of confidence and getting ready to show their skills before the packed house.

Chief Support is debutant Sean McGlinchy who took bronze as an amateur at the Commonwealth games, looking extremely sharp in the gym this is the first step on what could be a very big career.

Filling out the rest of the undercard will be Sean Magee, Gerald Healy, Joe Hillerby, Dan McShane and Matthew ‘Fitzy’ Fitzsimmons, either one capable of entertaining the crowd on their own, showing that once again the young king of promoting is putting on a cracking show.

Congrats on a very good win Luke. That was a very solid performance. Its good that you recognize a few areas of your game ain't perfect....nothing wrong with that at all. Try to focus on your jab and defense for the next one.

Post of the week that is Puca.

I love watching Luke, always in a good scraps, Duddyesque you might say.

Like so see him a bit more evasive alright, him versus Cruise would be a good fight for him. Pick up the Irish title, maybe get an EBU ranking out of it.

I'll get a European ranking on back of Taylor win he was 12th in latest rankings And hopefully Cruise fight will improve on that aswel the European champion at moment is an Italian 37 and has stoppage loss to BJ Saunders I'll be coming after him couple more good learning fights and full time training I'll be different fighter to last performance

Sean Turner will be looking to rock the Devenish Complex in Belfast on Friday night.
And hard hitting heavyweight Turner will meet Kamil Sokolowski (2-9-2) over eight rounds in what is an action packed bill
And Turner - who is known as ‘Big Sexy’ - believes an Irish title shot in 2017 in on the cards.
“My opponent is durable and tough, and he has take a lot of good heavyweights from England and Ireland the distance.
“If I get the stoppage against him it it make people sit up and take notice. It would be a big statement.
“But I won’t go out all guns blazing. This is eight rounds, and if I go the distance then it will be eight solid rounds in the tank.
“I can’t wait to get in there. It is a big show and I am itching to get back to action.”
And the Dubliner hopes a victory in Belfast will get him a shot at the Irish title
“I want to get your man out of the way and then fight for an Irish title.
“That is my aim and I am determined to get that belt,” he added.
Also on Friday night’s card Alfredo Meli (12-0-1) fights Laszlo Fazekas (30-26-1) over six rounds.
Tyrone McCullagh (5-0) tackles Michael Barnor (14-8-2) while Anto Upton (13-1) faces a six-rounder against Zaurs Sadihovs (4-14).
Vetrean Ian Tims (12-3) is also on the card, while Stephen Ormond (23-3) takes on Norwin Galo (7-7) and Belfast’s Ciaran McVarnock will test himself against (6-0-1) Antonio Horvatic (10-31).
Tickets are available from the boxers on the bill or promoter Mark Ginley
