All well and good but the penny doesn't seem to have dropped with ye all what has happened. Conlon...the..."Hope of a nation" ..has been effectively banned by his own nations boxing Union on the advice of his own nations police force! This is beyond farce, you couldn't make this kinda stuff up. It's third world dictatorship stuff. Yet nobody has anything to say about this?

    How is this a disgrace.
    It's a security issue.
People have been murdered at weigh ins for this promotion and the Kinihans are in an ongoing and bloody gang war in Dublin.

    These actions seem blindingly obvious!

Also, it won't affect Conlon and Barnes careers one iota

How us this a disgrace? Are you serious? Spoken like a trueirishman! The sheep are easily sheared. The chickens are easily plucked.
    Gee ...let me see now.....
Let's say ISIS suddenly decided golf was sinful......or Rugby encouraged drinking, gambling and promiscuity ( which it might well do, but that's another story!).
Do you think for one moment the great and the good of our little banana republic would ban Rory McIllroy and Brian O Driscoll? Can you imagine the outcry if they did? Get real.
Not at all. We would have the great and the good spouting about we must never bow down to terrorists ..blah blah....etc etc.
They would would get out our taxpayer-funded police to...er....police the events, end of story.

Just like when they squeezed out the worlds best am boxing coach in an Olympic year. Yet again we have been put in our place. We don't count. That's democracy for ya....it doesn't give you the society you want...but you do get the one you deserve.

This isn't some generic bloody fatwa.
This is a SPECIFIC boxing promotion owned by the family members of Irelands biggest criminal family who are currently in a brutal and bloody turf war in Ireland.
A promotion that has had mass shootings at their recent boxing events.

I'm amazed they were ever allowed to be licenced in Ireland.

Precisely. The terrible danger of allowing these unfortunate boxers to make a living mysteriously ends at the border! No other jusistiction has seen fit to ban the MGM boxers. Amazing innit?

Also....conlon and Barnes might be ok...they can manage fine without the republic, like Carl frampton has done.....but what about the other MTK boxers? The less well known guys who are not stars? Is it ok to just throw them under the bus like this?

Conlon might have a tougher time adjusting to pro boxing than people think. It might not be all plain sailing for him. Wouldn't surprise me at all. In a lot of ways he is a bit like j j nevin...lacks power and too impetuous.

Andy Lee looked like **** first three then went through the gears and looked good and stronger as the fight went on,(he should do against lads of this calibre) for a comfortable points win,
Still rust gone now hope to see him out again before or early summer.
Actually looked like he enjoyed the last few rounds haven't seen that in Andy for a while.
