Andy should be looking at this fight, always like a handy fight after a layoff.

Yeah but the headline was how tough Quigley was. And how ferocious Spike looked digging those shots into a live body that wasn't folding inside a round. He delivered the final hammer-strikes in the fourth with the same intensity as those he answered the opening bell with. No sign of gassing from Spike even after wailing on his man for 11+ minutes.

Yea spike turning a corner in his training best shape I seen him in and this time around maintained weight in between his last fight, he normally blows up in weight. Hopefully puts his heart and soul into final stage of career as has the fire power chin and boxing to give any Middleweight trouble.

My shoulder surgery recovery is going well they had had to reconnect where bicep muscle attaches to shoulder to new position it's called a slap tear should have got it done year and half ago but delighted to get it sorted and two weeks feeling great already! another ten weeks of no punching and hopefully back back punching pain free from now on!

Final push in career I'm going full time after xmas when recovered, I'm saying it a long time but it's either retire or give it everything as get no where at level where I want to go trying to hold onto full time job. Can't wait to get stuck back in with zero distractions!

Be disciplined about not exerting the injury before its ready. Dont be tempted to rush things and you should be fine. Theres plenty of other drills you can be doing that dont involve punching - best of luck with the 10 week recovery! :)

A slap tear is a tear of the gleniod lab rum( which is like a rim of cartilage surrounding the edges of the shoulder joint) tears can be painful and restrict movement due to pain which must have been tough boxing for a year and a half with that.

I'm guessing you tore the long head of your bicep which can often be associated with slap lesions, was that more recent or long standing?

Rehab can be tough but outcomes of slap lesion repairs are very good so i think if this was a long standing issue you may feel better than you do before.

Yea was tough training with pain last two years delighted to get it sorted and push on full time training! I was pulling my punches in training and it's a bad habit to get into hopefully can have full range movement now pain free. I had to avoid right uppercuts and hooks as hurt a lot more than when throwing a straight punch.

Hopefully get back to throwing those punches as they where my shots that did most damage Was just damage over time can't pin point exact moment did the damage but been getting worse as time went on.

Already feels better dull ache in shoulder has gone. Long enough process getting back but I'll do things right and hopefully all goes well.

On better note Stephen Ormond is in great place mentally coming up to his fight against Hyland he's using same sports psychologist he had in camp for Derry Matthews fight. Put too much pressure in his last fight on himself and put in worst performance ever seen of him. Loading up on his punches from round one.

Everyone writing him off but if fancy him to pull it off

He's a funny one Steven.ormond...didn't he run Flanagan very close and then very suddenly ...nothing. His career just suddenly collapsed. Hope he wins this one and finishes with some success....

Anyone see Barnes? Did he impress this time?

(Personally I can't see what the fuss is about with Barnes. From what I've seen of him as a pro he seems very ordinary to me. Turned pro far too late and with the wrong style too. )
