that would be class I was talking to the Irish Ropes Press guy to his knowledge there are no tv deals in place for over here.
What a result, amazed. I know they spar a lot in there high performance training. Maybe McLoughlin found some ch#nks in Sheahans armour. Anymore results puca.:thumbsup
I'll be going but as usual I will be sitting my arse down in the O2 bar in the point (o2 arena) whatever its called. I'll chew my nails, worry my arse off and not talk to anyone. but if you ****ers are around I don't mind slumming it with you somewhere for a while :good :yep. just don't expect me to act like a normal person. I've been watching bernard for over a decade. watching him makes my stomach churn at the best of times, but watching him knowing he is going to get KO'ed is bound to be a harrowing experience
Forever the optimist bambam. I'm only pulling your leg. Bernard has a decent chance of pulling of the upset. He needs to keep a tight defence in the early rounds, and then try to find his rhythm. When young Bernard uses his skill, he can be one of the best in the world. God willing, I should make it to the Point that night, and as a few have already suggested a meet-up before hostilities commence would be a bit of a laugh. Maybe Cormac with the Irish boxing fan club can meet up with us at the same time. EGAN CLOSES IN ON NINTH SENIOR TITLE http://m.rte.ie/sport/boxing/2009/0213/egank.html
Thanks Cormac, its been a frustrating early start to the year for Belfast boxing. At the end of last year, the prospect of several title fights in Belfast looked almost certain with the highlight of a Kings Hall extravaganza, Rogan/Skelton for the European title with the British Olympians boxing on the undercard. Now Rogan is only boxing for the Commonwealth belt, and to add insult to injury he has to travel to Birmingham to do so. Magee has opted to defend in Liverpool, after making big noises about a first defence in the Ulster Hall.Lindsays fight with Appleby has been postponed[ but hopefully will still take place in Belfast]. And now the McCloskey news. The sad thing is, any success by a northern boxer is widely acclaimed by the local media. BBC NI, UTV, The Irish News and The Belfast Telegraph all lavish praise on our local boxers when successful, thus giving them the exposure they need as a platform for selling tickets.I believe the fanbase is here to be tapped into, but it's up to the promoters and the TV networks at the end of the day. That's my moan over for the moment.
