just listening to an interview with wayne mc cullough on irish-boxing.com...

dunno if anyone heard him on joe duffy show on rte radio some weeks back...he got an awful slating...people calling in and saying he should be ashamed of himself for bringing mma to dublin..
i thought it was a terrible thing for someone who should be treated as a national hero..well, a sporting hero of ireland...to have to go on the national radio station and be spoken to like he was...
i have nothing against ufc /mma...best of luck to them and their fans...but why does the media insist on having to assossiate the 2 sports...they are 2 completely different sports...
even barry mc guigan was on saying how mc cullough was 'abandoning' boxing...

    i don't know...am i looking at it wrong ??..

r u aright doug...cool photos.....i heard the interview ....i think dunne posted it on here...wayne was on the defensive...the thing was it was wayne that kept comparing boxing with mma...almost running down boxing in the process...but i get ur point that some of the callers remarks 2 wayne were a little harsh...the ufc event was sold out...so there seems 2 be an interest in it...:good

More names added to the Paddys day show in MSG O Connor is added aswell. The night seems to be getting better and better,
Only two opponents named, for Lee and Power.
Jamie Power sems to be taking a big step up his guy is unbeaten in six although he drew his last two.
    Good opponent for Andy though...
Hope the rest of the guys get equally good opposition...

    How ye lads,

I'll have something hopefully over the weekend on the Cubans from Gary Hyde.

Also from Spike O'Sullivan. I'm not gonna lie, I've told Spike that I can't dress up his latest opponent as credible. Packie Collins sees it as a step up, but I'm sceptical to say the least. Spike, to be fair, just wants to beat someone up. But a fella that hasn't fought since 1997? Please.

On another note, kudos to Paddy for his superb work lately. He's had some cracking interviews, and is keeping Irish boxing in the news and then some. Look out, Buncey, Paddy Cronan is coming for ya!!!

Another bit of good news, Sean Mannion is set to be honoured at the Garden on the Andy Lee show in March, 25 years after fighting Mike McCallum for the WBA light-middleweight title. Eddie McLoughlin invited him over, fair play.

On another note, count me in for the ESB boys on tour for Bernard's fight.
