Quigley needs to win this one ......and convincingly...... if he wants to be taken seriously in the race for a title.

 

DDP CEO and co founder Paul Keegan has relocated full time to Dublin on
a full time basis and has set up an office on his native turf. DDP will though
continue to promote shows in Brisbane.

 

Sorry to hear that he's left our shores but that's good news for Irish boxing.

Some of the shows his outfit have put on in Australia have been high quality in terms of matches made.

Hopefully there's more to come.

He's someone who definitely has the right idea when it comes to promoting boxing. What he needs is the right fighters to make it profitable.

Hyland was destroyed last night in his attempt to win the European title. Truth is he wasn't worthy of that shot

 

That's good to hear, we haven't exactly got a glut of promoters here

 

I think he's retired, no sign of him even in training camps.

 

Whatever about deserving it he showed great heart. He just hasn't the power. Would he have done better boxing? Jabbing using feints?

 

Even if he had the ability to win titles (and just by his lack of pop alone I doubt it).. he was a toxic brand to promote due to his family connections to recent events that have damaged boxing here so badly. Of course it's not fair to blame the lad himself, but the reality is he was probably frozen out politely by trainers and promoters and probably pressure at home from his partner too if he has one...

Hopefully the haul of medals from Minsk will go some way to restore the status of our boxing game.

 

Is Michael O Reilly still boxing or has be completely gone off the rails?

 

...Just read up and saw his 4 year ban for drug offences.

 

He co turn pro I suppose....but who'd want him? Completely doolally at best.... and likely a nasty piece of work
