I think boxing in mayo would be great. Mayo has a few pro boxers the timlin brothers, micheal sweeney and henry coyle. if they were on the undercards it would sell out easily.

Hello Sandwedge, Brian Peters is running a promotion in Mayo on March or April. Bernard Dunne will headline the event, with the Timlin brothers along with Sweeney on the undercard. One of the Timlin bothers is expected to fight Belfast's Martin Rogan for the Irish heavyweight title that night.RTE will broadcast it live.

What do ye think of darren sutherland he's turning pro after the olympics wheather he qualifes or not. I think he'll be a force in the future. I just hope he'll move to america when he turns pro and some great american trainer will pick him up.

To tell the truth Ardy, I have never heard of her until now. The newspaper gave her a good rap though. I will take an interest from hereon.

We have several girls at our boxing sessions, the girl Daena is only 14yrs old. She won Waikato Champs on her 1st outing, she has 6 fights and 6 wins, two regional championships, one international and two national titles involved in that lot.

I will be taking a group of six boxers to Hobart, Australia next month. Daena and a girl from another gym and four male fighters (Shamrock) for competition.

There are not a real quantity of female boxers around, so stats can be a little differant as compared to males. The same would apply to Taylor I guess.

Talk about an abundance of talent at middleweight from Ireland.

And she's played for the Irish ladies soccer team about 40 times - quite an allrounder.

Any of you guys in Dublin know if there's a pub showing the Lyakhovich-Valuev match? And which channel will be showing the Pavlik-Taylor fight? I'll be back in Dublin for a visit this week and won't have internet access and don't wanna miss the fights.

thanks ardy. Do you think he'll fight a top 15 super bantem or a easy tuneup? I'd say tuneup but he might want to prove himself to his fans.

I would say an easy tune-up is the likely anwser to that question, although I believe Dunne is in line to fight Martinez again by the end of the year.

Darren Sutherland will make an excellent pro, but my only concern is that he might be be a little old turning over.

It's great to see dunne trying to avenge defeat. He could have easily side- stepped or avoided him . In 3-4 years i think sutherland will be in world title contention and he might get better into his late thirties like b-hop. He is still only 26. Any news on macklin isn't brian peters his promoter? Will he be headlineing any shows soon? Irish middleweights are taking over the world!!!!!

IMO Taylor is the best woman's amateur fighter in the World , it's a shame that Woman's boxing wasn't accepted for the Olympics as her goal as an amateur is to become an Olympics champion and doing so would probably convince her to turn pro where should could become Ireland's equivalent to Amir Khan(without the dodgey chin) .

It's good to hear that Dunne will be back soon , too much time out can damage a fighter .

I think Sutherland is going to make a great pro(I believe he intends to turn pro after the Olympics) , he's much more suited to pro boxing than amatuer .

Irish boxing is really flying at the moment .
