wheres podge with his usual run-down to the show...i hope he doesnt keep us in suspense with the results 2nite:good
I want to see more of the Cubans. I was at Perez's second fight and saw the following two on RTE. Other than that I haven't seen anything, and other than the short video on youtube I've seen nothing of Acosta. I've actually seen nothing of Garcia. I know people on this thread have been to the fights, anyone have footage? If anyone is heading over to Newcastle it would be great you could put a video of the Cubans on youtube.
Was at the Stadium last. Some great displays by the Irish and Americans. But the main talking point or whispering to be more exact was about Egans no show:-(
Any news on that! Is it a bit of a coincidence that he is a no show on the same weekend that the Olympians are making their pro debuts? Second thoughts about staying in the amateur perhaps!
Nah man, no news, just all sorts of rumors. They say he was not answering his phone. Maybe hes took a nervous break down or summit.:huh
its strange to say the least... but back to the pro game i just saw the interview with big rogie jesus he looks in fantastic shape! Hopefully he can set about doing what he plans to do
McGUIGAN BACKS ROGAN FOR GLORY http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/other-sports/mcguigan-backs-rogan-for-glory-14208013.html As we eagerly await the biggest fight thus far this year involving an Irish boxer, it's becoming more and more apparent that the Irish media are not only supporting Rogan, but are also expecting an upset win tonight against Matt "The Bedford Bear" Skelton.I personally have been following Martin from the beginning of his amateur career, when he created a stir making the final of the Ulster seniors in only a handful of contests[ that night he brought several hundred fans from the west of the city to final night].Rogie will need all that fighting heart we have become accustomed to witnessing if he is to triumph, but he can do it. A points victory or late stoppage for Martin is my pick.
