Its a little odd given the fact that he only won it in December. Id imagine he will be straight in with the winner, so as long as that happens it shouldn't make a huge deal of difference - provided he is still paid fairly.

Official line from the BBBofC is that he vacated. And the winner of the Dodson fight have been sanctioned to fight for the vacant title on the basis that Magee gets a shot in the summer. Now thats paraphrased but not far off.
