Who watched Arthur Abraham box last night. He won, but was very poor:verysad. Now I read somewhere this week[the link was posted on here] that Abrahams people are interested in a fight with Duddy. AA workrate was shite last night and he looked under pressure a lot of the times, and I could not help thinking if that was Duddy fighting AA last night Ireland would have had a new world champ.Any thoughts lads:think
me and bigtime timmy were talking about this when i was over in yank lad he felt the new duddy has what it takes to not only outbox abraham but take anything abraham could throw at him. duddy would be nuts to take this fight in germany though.....
Good article on Brian peters, Talking about next week's fight. http://www.sbpost.ie/post/pages/p/story.aspx-qqqt=NEWS+FEATURES-qqqm=nav-qqqid=40099-qqqx=1.asp A couple of quote's from Peters: Times are tough, money is scarce, so you have to be innovative and put on a show, said Peters. We have a lot of tricks up our sleeve. Mark my words, it will be the best night in Irish boxing history. If Bernard wins, Main Street Las Vegas here we come,
I always felt a Lee fight with Abraham was more likely, simply down to his Kiltschko connection and the fight would have to take place in Germany, where his name would (perhaps) be easier to market. He'd make a good go of it too.
Lee and Duddy both need to take stock of where their careers are going. It's been heartening to see Duddy fight with some regularity again, that's hope we can say the same about Lee in the forthcoming months. A few contests in Ireland with Lee connecting with his Irish fan base again, and away from the scruntinizing glare of America is whats needed for the Limerick man. There was also some talk of Duddy fighting in Ireland this year also, so maybe a Kings Hall double header with McCloskey could be on the cards, which would be more terrific news for Irish boxing.
