Looks like Duddy Pavlik is all but set in stone according to this article. I have a funny feeling this guy might give Duddy problems as long as he comes to win. He is agressive and constantly coming forward which will make John increase his workrate. I'll let you guys no what the atmosphere was like in the BIG APPLE!!!!

ml... what is the price range of the tickets....where are you sitting on sat nite

 

I got the $100 tickets, but my cousin has the tickets so I'm not sure where the seats are. I have seen a lot of fights there and the visibility is not bad and the atmosphere is great. The big city, bright lights, pubs, beer, and fights make for a good weekend even if the weather sucks.

 

ml.. is there tickets for less than $100...are you going to any of the fights on the 15th of march

 

They jacked up the prices because its two heavyweight champs so 100 was the cheapest seat. Im not going to see James Moore even though its a better matchup than the Duddy fight but i figure Duddy is in the big arena with Wlad headlining so it should be fun. I am definatly going to see Andy Lee at Mohegan and might even have a hookup for front row seats. If I go to the Pogues or DKM concert I might check out that Boston club fight but I really doubt it. A lot of things going on during the holiday season!!

Hello Ardy - what do you think of the claim by Paul's manager in this article that he can become a world champion. I certainly hope so - he is very elusive and hard to hit if not perhaps a knock out specialist. I would love to see him progress to a world title - my old man had a milk run for 25 years in Dungiven, Paul's home town so I used to be running around there every Saturday when I was a young lad.

 

mick....do you think mccloskey can win a world title this year..i think it's a bit early...he should fight that european champ from england first...colin lions[ i think thats his name]

 

Hello Fra - I suppose that is the question I was posing Ardy - without doubt Paul is very hard to hit but I wonder if he will be able to maintain this against the very best. I would be interested in Shamrock's take on this as he is a boxing coach and might be able to analyse the pros and cons for McCloskey's style as he moves up against better opposition.

 

The cheapest ticket should be $50 but their is a chance if it selling well that there could be seats for 25.

 

that boxing pundit on RTE[not jim rock..the other one] seems to think..and i have heard him say this more than once..that when mccloskey gets beat...it will be by ko...because paul keeps his hands by his side ...a lot of the americans who tune into RTE on the net...seem to be very impressed by mccloskey:bbb :hi:

 

thanks ml... thats great value...duddy/pavlik should pack out the garden...without any problem...i would say there will be a few thousand travelling from ireland...and thats not including the irish and irish-americans... before you include pavliks supporters

 

McCloskey is a great prospect but his promoter is being silly by not going for Lynes and the european title first. Petes says he is negotiating for shot at Paulie NOW..thats crazy! McCloskey is a pure boxer, he needs to establish himeslf. European and then a world title shot. I don't think he could ever be a genuine champ but he could hold a belt. Hatton is the genuine champ, followed by Witter as #1. McCloskey can go far but he can't beat these two.
