The official attendance was 18,725. Had to dig out my copy of Dave Hannigan's book 'The Big Fight' for that one. But it also says that **** loads got in for free which isn't hard to believe when you read about how the rest of the promotion went.
was looking forward to going to this but all me mates have pulled out , not too worry hopefully rogie gets a crack at the euro in belfast would definatley go to that . has anyone got news regards mccloskey or lee , its all gone very quiet latley
Yeah it's a very good read, not a boxing book per sé, as the actual fight get's only a few pages towards the end. But it does the describe the build up very well, and it was gratifying to read how Ali was received by the Irish and how he was taken aback by our reaction to him given the way he was perceived at the time back in the states.
I was talking to Lee last week he doest have anything definate yet stop being a nancy and come up to belfast anyway! plenty of room on the air coach!:deal
i might take you up on that paddy , il decide thursday , really looking forward to seein rogie again , he has to be one of our most exciting and popular fightrs for years

M'Baye has seen better days. I think this is a comfortable win for McCloskey. And the fight has to be in Belfast, although I believe Warren to still have promotional interests in M'Baye, I can't see him bidding too much if any for this contest, unless of course Warren is trying to get McClokey back on board. But either way the fight will still take place in Belfast.
well thats a good thing slapbangwalllop! Thanks for the links Ardy, always good to read. hawkins and o'hara and the irish news seem to keep people in belfast and the north singlehandedly interested in the sport sometimes. If friday is a big success, i think Warren will be back here a few times. o'hara looks to be fighting on as a chief support in the next one. haughian, mccloskey andy murray and all the breen team lads can benifit hugely if rogan keeps winning
