Jermain Taylor is a much slicker boxer than john,and he couldnt outbox pavlik(although i had JT by 2 rounds on my card) and pavlik hits a hell of alot harder than smichet and look what smichet did to out johns eye,given with the fact that pavlik has much better leverage in his shots it does not add up to a good night for john.
where has your power gone john?

i cant see june 7 happening now,not because of arum but instead irish ropes,they'll want to stick john in with another easy opponent before pavlik,the only thing is,nothing is looking 'easy' for john at the minute.

the most troubling thing is that after every single one of his wars (and he's been in a couple), we're told that it's just a learning experience and that he's improved his defense... when is that going to actually happen? never mind that he getting bad cuts around his eyes almost every fight

 

his defence was non excistent tonight.. he realy blew it....big style

 

He doesn't use his hands for defense, he's trying to slip punches as if he were a slick boxer...but he doesn't have that talent. He does have skill, he just has flaws to go along with it...but Duddy won't let someone beat him. Whether he comes around or not, I'll still be a Duddy fan.

I cant see how 2 judges scored the bout 98-92 to Duddy.

I watched the fight and scored it as follows

RD1: 10-9 Smichet
RD2: 10-10 Even
RD3: 10-10 Even
RD4: 10-9 Smichet
RD5: 10-10 Even
RD6: 10-9 Duddy
RD7: 10-10 Even
RD8: 10-10 Even
RD9: 10-9 Duddy
RD10: 10-9 Duddy

98-97 Duddy

Possibly Rounds 7 and 8 could have gone to Duddy, but in saying that Rounds 2 and 3 could have gone to Smichet also. From rounds 6 onwards it was Duddys fight but i felt he didnt quite do enough to take rounds 7 and 8 and Smichet did just enough not to loose them either!

Duddy VS Pavlik would be good to watch while it last but Pavlik gets him out in 4!

 

Duddy needs to fight at distance Ardy, he started that late, but not well schooled. Sorry!
