Frampton is only 21 or 22 he won the senior title at 17 then again this year in a momentus fight against Davie Oliver (4 years later i think)in between that he won many multi nations medals including a eu championship gold medal.his transfer to the pro game should be easy as he has boxed like a pro for years.

From what I've seen of Frampton he is a quality, quality prospect, and the thought of him turning pro nearly has me salivating
He's suited to the pros alright.

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ee/Flag_of_Ireland_hockey_team.svg

That type of flag should suit him grand. Although my favourite flag of that nature would be a mix of that(which is the Irish Hockey teams flag) and the 4 provinces flag. So instead of using a crest the 4 provinces are placed in the corners of the flag to a dark green background.

To whoever asked about McCloskey, Souleymane M'Baye is going to be his opponent for the European title and unfortunately it looks like being in France. I still fancy Paul to get the job done though.

What do people make of Luis Garcia's big step up fighting away n Spain to the EU Champion Gabiel Campillo next Friday ?

It's a dangerous fight, but from what I've seen of both men I'm expecting a sensational stoppage win for Garcia. Campillo holds his hands low while he's at range, and I can see Garcia getting in and landing big shots before he has the chance to raise them. He also puts the 'earmuffs' on when he gets backed to the ropes, and I could see Garcia working him over when he's in that position.

Campillo is a decent boxer though, and is the best Garcia has faced by a long way in pretty much every department(bar toughness, which goes to Michael Gbenga). He only lost a close mixed decision in Germany to German prospect karo Murat for the European title. He aso defeated Lolenga Mock in his last fight, the same man who had David Haye on the floor and in a bad way early in his career.

Alexei Acosta has a step up aswell against Bismarck Alfaro. The Nicaraguan only lost a mixed decision to former European Bantamweight champion and World title challenger Simeone Maludrottu in Italy, and he also beat English prospect Gavin Reid recently by a wide decision. To give some contrast he was stopped by the very good Hungarian prospect Zsolt Bedak(who is World ranked, 13th by the WBA and 8th by the WBO at Super-Bantamweight).
He also lost his last fight, a decision to Italian Bntamweight champion Emiliano Salvini in Italy.

So it's clearly the toughest test Acosta has had to date but it's more than a winnable fight for him and I can see him gaining a stoppage aswell.
It'll be interesting to see what Hyde does with them should they both win.

Correct - I had Carl on my Bebo page and he was getting a fair ould "ribbing" for pictures of him on a podium with a tricolor being raised behind him.

I don't think flag waving of any description will be an issue with Barry McGuigan guiding Carl's career.Up here in the north, it's best to stay away from displays of nationalism[Irish or British] as one side or the other always gets offended, the murder of a catholic on Sunday in Coleraine is proof of this point.
But to get back to boxing and Carl Frampton, I'm very surprised Carl has turned pro. I spoke to his father during the semi-finals of The Ulster Senior Championships and he was adamant that Carl was staying amateur and he went on to describe his mistrust of the professional promoters and managers. I think McGuigan long term plan will be for Framption and Shane McGuigan to headline shows here in Belfast. I have been watching Carl for a long time, and am expecting great things from this lad.

This Sinclair/Duddy speculation is not waffle. There is high expectation that this bout will be the main support for Rogan/Sexton. But to be perfectly truthful, it's a contest I would prefer not to see happen, there is other roads for these two to take.

We will know by Friday if McCloskey will have home advantage for his European title fight. Breen is confident its set for Belfast.

And finally Darren Corbett has retired. He brought a lot of great nights to the Ulster Hall and Waterfront.A real character in and out of the ring, I hope he's happy in his retirement.

Pity about Belshaw, but as said before being a big guy who can punch doesn't automatically stamp you as a "prospect" in my book. Fury looked OK but he HAS to get more snappy with those punches and that body movement, his size won't protect him from slicker opponents once he steps up. Sitting duck at the minute.

Corbett was entertaining as always, shame he didn't make it, he was so close, but he's been practically retired for a decade.

What's the word on Andy Lee? he seems to have faded into obscurity over the last few months.

I wasnt a bit sorry about Belshaw. He had been masquerading as a prospect for too long. Anyway I was supporting the Connacht man over the Ulster man anyway.

Fury is far from the finished product - thats if he ever becomes the finished product - he is pretty awkward and flinches when he punches and gets punched, which is worrying. There doesnt seem to be much fluidity or raw agression.

However, in saying that he has fought guy far in advance of the usual sh1te that HW prospects fight at his stage of his career. I actually think he is moving too fast up the foodchain - but in saying that the results have been pretty good so far.

I want Rogan against Corbett, especially since theres a bit of bad blood and **** talkin goin on between them, it would be brilliant to watch just for two tough as **** Belfast guys who never back down and can swing heavy leather going at it.

Corbetts antics in the ring always have me in stitches.
