Do you know what? Sinky, if hes tip top 100% might just do Duddy. I will repeat (ish) what I said before Sinky v Coyle. A Coyle win was better for Irish boxing but was rooting for Sinky. Duddy -v- Sinky. A Duddy win would be better for Irish boxing but I would be rooting for Sinky.
**** not another Sinky fan, this ****ing thread is full of them. And you know what they loved him that night at the Odyssey. He got a powerful reception for a guy thats done jack**** for the last several years.Cant see him beating Duddy unless on cuts or something.:deal Do you think this fight will come off BamBam
i was,nt surprised at all sinclair,s experience was far superior to coyle,s even as amatuers coyle couldn,t touch sinclair,s credentials sinclair won his last senior title by ko over one of Irelands best champions Neil Gough and his pro career spans over 10yrs he is also a much better schooled boxer:bbb
I thought Mike Sweeney was supposed to be moving to the states and boxing at the end of this month. still no sign,Has Mike moved yet or is he still in Ireland. We've heard a few times about this great deal he got from Egan but nothing seems to be coming of it,It would be a shame as Sweeny's career seems to have stalled a bit waiting for the dream move.
It appears Tommy Egan promises more than he can deliver. WALSH LEADS IRELAND TEAM TO FURTHER GLORY http://www.independent.ie/sport/other-sports/walsh-leads-ireland-team-to-further-glory-1783161.html
Sweeney is on the undercard of Cruz-Solis in Mexico on July 11. It's certainly not Egan's fault - Sweeney has pulled out a couple of times of scheduled dates with injury and a bereavement. Art Pelullo of Banner Promotions is still very keen. Michael is training with Michael Carruth now, I think himself and Sean Mannion were a bit too close - Sean was almost fatherly and too nice, whereas Carruth has a bit of drill sergeant about him. To be honest, I think that's what Sweeney needs. He doesn't seem to be the best self-motivator and likes it a bit too much at home - whether that's a confidence thing or not, I dunno. Carruth has him going very well, by all accounts. I'm no shill for Egan, but he has provided so much for Sweeney in the past year, without much in return. He's also not charging a manager's fee for his first few fights 'cos he wants Sweeney to start earning a crust - that's a rare and honourable sentiment in a professional boxing manager, and one I salute. I hope it works out - with the lack of options available to Irish fighters at the moment, America to earn a reputation could be the way to go. Dean Byrne is flying, as is Stephen Ormond. If Sweeney does well in Mexico on July 11, then I hope a few more Irish lads flock to see what Egan can offer.
alright lads.paddy ninebar and myself were talking to andy at the weigh in friday and after the fight.he knows his performances this year havent been great and hes very dissapointed with them.he said he found it hard to get into it saturday night cos of the lack of atmosphere.people might say thats no excuse but it must have been difficult.it was a huge arena and there was only 8 or 9000 people there for andys fight and the only noise was being made by the few irish that were there.he got cut again but didnt need stitches.it was an old scar that opened up again
Not trying to put a downer on things as I like Lee a lot but the atmosphere at the 02 was fantastic but his performance was still terrible.
i know that but im only saying what andy said to me regarding saturday nights fight.he said himself he was bad at the o2 as well
i think its a confidence thing with andy , we know he has the tools and he should have no problem with the like of fedotovs but it just seems like he needs a good win behind him against someone like elcock or something just to get his confidence back
Andy needs to up his level needs a top fight with somebody be it Machlin or whoever he needs to be tested sooner rather than later and see how he goes from there.
