in honesty we are used to a boxing world of patience and prospects being brought along ridiculously slowly so in lee's case he may not be too rushed in that sense,he clearly has the capability and perhaps manny sees that there is no point in him taking on nobodies when he can do that in sparring.perhaps we are so used to the ludacracy of boxing today that when someone is brought along and thrown into the deep end that it seems somehow 'alien'.

As you state why would Winky want to take this fight? From posts on the main forum it is clear at this stage of his career WW wants to make a few cash killings before retirement. Who would front up with big cash for this fight - it just doesn't make sense.
On the other hand, assuming that Manny isn't bullshitting a November meeting with Pavlik in New York would suit me down to the ground. I did the Breeders Cup at Belmont Park in October '05 and had a ball for 5 days in the big smoke. My missus wanted to do the cocktail bar routine but she couldn't shift me out of the Irish bars.

johns a great fighter, i have any respect for a man who gets into the ring and espeically fights with that old skool mentality. these armchair critics infuriate me, most have never set foot in a club but still feel they can pass judgement. They are in all walks of life i suppose. Its great to see an irish thread like this backing our boys. The futures bright with our stable of pros and amateurs at the mo. They need look no further than here for support..
